Easter Sunday
"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." - Psalm 118:24

I was recently asked, "what is the most important word in all of the Bible?" I pondered a little bit and answered, "risen." There are many crucial words that people could come up with - life, love, grace, forgiveness, etc. And these are all important truths. But without the resurrection, these are only nice sentiments. If Christ has not been raised from the grave, we are still in our sins and condemned to eternal punishment in hell. The resurrection distinguishes Christianity from every other religion that man has invented. It's not just about resurrection of our souls, but resurrection of our physical bodies! Join me to ponder anew, what the resurrection really means for our day to day lives. Death has been defeated. So, how then shall we live?

Hail Lord Jesus! You are our Champion! All of our enemies have been defeated through Your death and resurrection. Cause us to truly understand, appreciate, and live out the truth of Your resurrection every moment of our lives. Because You live, we can face our tomorrows. Because You live, every fear is gone. Our future is in Your hands. Amen.

Saturday Devotion

The word tetelesthai is the word Jesus cried from the cross meaning, “It is finished.” The glorious consequence of those words is that, for all of us who are in Christ, we will not be judged by the last thing that we did before we died. Instead, we will be judged by the last thing that Jesus did before He died as He cried “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34). Our salvation has been completed, it is finished, it is done and done!

Lord, we thank you for not leaving anything undone when it comes to our salvation. Help us to rest assured in Your finished work. Amen.
