Yesterday we celebrated Black History! Our youth challenged our memories and our “older youth” shared their experiences. We agreed that some of weren’t built for living in the South and thanked God for migration to California!
We have one of the few living original WAC's in our mist and she shared what it was like to be a woman of color on a segregated military. It's mind blowing to see that how after time has passed things have changed yet remain the same, but God is good and continues to watch over us.

Todays man of honor is a special person he is definitely ahead and before a lot of our time . From the stories I hear about him he was a true day 1 , he and his wife both attended the New Gethsemane Church early back in the Rosecrans days . He was so far ahead of my time that I actually need help and want you that remember him to chime in please . The fondest memory I have of this man was his preaching , when he would preach he had a high pitch he would hit . Between him and his wife they were a great duo . He could preach and she would play the organ 🎹 , if you haven't figured out who this man is it is none other than Elder Sims 💐

This was actually the first one, as it should have been…

First on our list is a man who needs no introduction . His voice and his reputation speaks volumes . I have heard him say in a cathedral I don't need a 🎤 I have a built in one 😂. If you are looking for something to be built he is the man to call ☎️ , if you are looking for healing and guidance he is the man to call ☎️. If you are looking for a friend he is definitely the man to call, I have witnessed this man do 8 hrs of work and not charge a dime . When we are at home sleep he is praying for us maybe that is why he was named Isaiah at first because he could see things before they came . If you still haven't figured out who I am talking about maybe my hint of " Amen lights 💡 " will help. Today we start off our Men's Month with none other than our Pastor, uncle, father, grandfather, cousin and friend Supt. Eld. J.P. Pullens 💐

Today's man of honor is a true brother to our pastor . These two were inseparable. If you wanted to know where pastor was look for him if you wanted to know where he was look for pastor. Playing the guitar 🎸 was only one of his many talents . He could build, sing work on cars and dress to the 9's as they would say back in the day. This pastor was such a close friend and dear brother that their church was right down the street. Sometimes we would travel as one big church during the district days . Even though they were not from our church this pastor and the pastors before him and this church have had such an impact on us from the choir to programs and just supporting each other. I was going to leave this part out but I will never forget how hurt pastor was when his dear friend and brother passed. He was actually ready to sale and give up his line of work because of the influence this pastor had on him . This pastors wife just dropped by the church last Sunday if you were at church you know who I am talking about , we are continuously praying 🙏🏾 for there family and church because Faith Church and Elder Morrow 💐 truly are family to New Gethsemane.
