All nine gifts of the Spirit are perfect, they are all supernatural, and they are all operating in the world today. As it was in the acts of the apostles, so should the gifts of the Spirit be in manifestation in the here and now.
Take time to study the book of Acts and you will find over fifty demonstrations of the gifts of the Spirit. Put yourself in their shoes and believe that you will be used by God and do even greater things than they did.
Once again, there are revelation gifts, power gifts, and inspiration gifts. God wants you to be inspired because you can't have any power without inspiration. At the same time, you can't have any inspiration without some form of revelation. There is unity in the gifts of the Spirit for they all work together.
Through these nine gifts the Holy Spirit is continually revealing something, doing something, or saying something. It is your responsibility to desire these gifts and to operate in them and then trust the Holy Spirit to distribute "to each one individually as He wills" (1 Cor. 12:11).
He will not use everybody in the same way and people get into trouble when they decide for themselves what it is they want to do. This is why you have to say to the Lord, "Not my will, but Your will be done."
The Bible says you are to earnestly desire to operate in these gifts which means you have a responsibility to ask for them. Yes, the Holy Spirit decides what gifts He gives and to whom He gives them but that is not supposed to stop you from asking Him for these gifts.
God has given you the opportunity to do so and asking for them is your right as a born again believer. These gifts are special endowments of supernatural power and energy and the Holy Spirit won't even consider using you in these gifts unless the desire is first there.
It is God's plan and will to use you in a mighty way and you already have the power inside of you to move in signs, wonders, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. One way that you show God you earnestly desire to be used by Him is to study the Bible so that you can understand the correct operation of the nine gifts of the Spirit. You must not be spiritually lazy or lukewarm and you must grow in faith and continually express your desire to God that you want to be used by Him here in His kingdom on the earth.
