Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, also known as Trinity Sunday. ✨

This special feast day is dedicated to the central belief of the Christian faith: that there is one God in three Divine Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While each Person is fully God, they are not three gods, but one God united in perfect love and communion.

Trinity Sunday is celebrated the week after Pentecost and invites us to reflect more deeply on who God is and how He reveals Himself to us. The Father creates us, the Son redeems us through His life, death, and Resurrection, and the Holy Spirit sanctifies and guides the Church.

The Holy Trinity is woven throughout Catholic life. We begin and end our prayers with the Sign of the Cross, are baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and participate in the Mass through the worship of the Triune God.

Although we cannot fully comprehend God’s divine nature, the Holy Trinity reminds us that God is never distant. He is perfect love, and He calls us into a relationship with Him and with one another.

“Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit…”

Volunteers are encouraged to sign up to assist with St. Anthony’s Relic Visitation at St. Hedwig Church on Monday, June 8!

The visitation will be accompanied by Franciscan friars from the Pontifical Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, Italy. During the visit, prayer petitions and holy cards will be distributed so the faithful may write their prayer intentions to St. Anthony. The friars will then bring the petitions back to the Basilica in Padua, where they will be placed at the tomb of St. Anthony. There, the friars will pray for St. Anthony’s intercession upon all the petitions received.

Volunteers are welcome to assist the friars with setup and the distribution of prayer petitions and holy cards. Youth and young adults are especially encouraged to participate in this special and rare opportunity!

To become a volunteer, please email: [email protected]. For more information about the relic visit and tour in the Diocese of Orange, please visit: www.sainthedwig.org/st-anthony/.

With joyful hearts, we celebrate the children of our parish who received their First Holy Communion. May this sacred day be the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith, love, and closeness with Christ in the Eucharist. Thank you to our families, catechists, and community for walking beside them on this beautiful milestone. Congratulations, First Communicants. Jesus is truly with you always.

“When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, behold, your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Behold, your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.” — John 19:26–27

The Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church, is celebrated on the Monday after Pentecost to honor Mary as the spiritual mother of all Christians and of the Church itself.

The title “Mother of the Church” recognizes Mary’s unique role as the mother of Jesus, the Head of the Church, and by extension, the spiritual mother of all the faithful. At the foot of the Cross, Jesus entrusted Mary to the disciple John, saying, “Behold, your mother” (John 19:26–27), symbolically giving her to all believers. Mary’s presence with the apostles at Pentecost further emphasizes her maternal care for the Church from its very beginning. 💙
