Thank you so much for praying for our family in this time of loss. My brother, D.J.'s body has been returned to New Mexico. His funeral will be on April 8th at 10:00 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow.

Good morning, Friends! Would you all please pray for my (Doralyn's) family) For those who don't know, I am Pastor Philhour's wife. On March 7th, my aunt ( Mom's sister) passed away. Due to my parents' health, the only way for them to get to Michigan for the funeral was for us to fly with them. I have always been afraid to fly. God worked a miracle and I got excited about flying! I loved the flying part of the trip! On March 11th, while in Dallas amidst two flights delays and a gate change, Mom got a text from the nursing home where my brother lied saying that he was in the hospital. We didn’t think much of it because he was in and out of the hospital often. On Thursday March 12, we found out he had been flown to El Paso and then Houston and needed open heart surgery. He called and talked to Mom.
On Friday March 13th we went to my Aunt's funeral. Immediately after the funeral and family luncheon, we headed to Detroit because we had to catch an early flight the next morning. While traveling, we received word that my brother passed away. He was only 57 years old. My parents live 2 hours away from us and my younger brother. Our kids live in the same city they do. My younger brother was able to get a few days off and stay with my parents for a few days to help them with the many things that had to be done. It is now Mach 23rd. and we are still waiting on his body to be brought back to NM so we can have a funeral. This has been so hard on all of us. We need closure. It has been hardest on my mom. Please lift her up in your prayers. Thank you!

The first Friday night in December is the Christmas Light Parade here in Lordsburg. Afterward there is Moonlight Madness. This is where individuals and businesses pay for a space ahead of time and that day set up to sell food, homemade crafts, etc. This year Scripture Baptist Church had a booth! We gave out 58 gift bags with small toys, puzzles,activity pads that all depicted the true meaning of Christmas, candy, and a gospel tract in them, 48 gift bags to adults with a Christmas ornament depicting the true meaning of Christmas, a pocket calendar, a pen, and gospel tracts in them. We also gave out nativity scene Chrismas ornaments, other little toys depicting the true meaning of Christmas, 9 giant print KJV Bibles, and 5 regular print Bibles! We gave out everything for free! These numbers may not seam like very many to you, but they mean alot to us. This is a very small town. This is the biggest outreach we have ever had! Getting one Bible or one gospel tract into someone's hand would have made all the work of ordering, filling bags, etc worth it. We are already planning to do this outreach again next year and fill even more gift bags and order even more Bibles because we ran out of gift bags and had only one giant print left! Praise the Lord!

Words cannot express how thankful we ( the Philhour family) are for Calvary Baptist Church and their desire to help is. Last summer while we were on vacation, a wind storm tore about 5 feet of shingles off of our roof. It took awhile to find a company to fix it. The company that finally agreed to fix it never came back to finished the job and the job the did was not done right. When Pastor Philhour told Pastor Jason about it a few weeks ago. Calvary Baptist Church donated all the materials to rerooff our whole house! As I type this, Pastor Jason and some men and youth fom Calvary are reroofing our house. Thank you so so much Calvary Baptist Church in Silver City, NM! We love you!

Pastor Philhour and his family have been reminded lately that when things don't go according to our plans, it is okay because God's plans are not always our plans. His plans are always tbe best plans. We have to be willing to trust Him even when we don't understand His plan!

"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 10:9
In John chapter 10, Jesus tells us that He is the Good Shepherd. Shepherds know and live their sheep. They lead them to pastures where they can get the nutrition they need to grow and live. They also lead them to water so they can drink. Then they lead them back to shelter so they are protected from predators. Jesus wants to be our Shepherd. There is only one way to enter His fold and that is to walk through the door. I thank God that one night after family devotions when I was 3 years old, my older brother told how to enter the Good Shepherd's fold. The way to go through His door is to confess your sins and ask Him to be your Saviour. Then He will be your Saviour, Good Shepherd, and your best friend. He will guide you through good times and bad times. Have you entered into His fold? Have you asked Him to forgive you of your sins and be your Saviour? God's plan of salvation is so simple. It is yours for the asking. Will you accept Him as your Saviour today so can be sure will go to Heaven when you die?

"'Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

Why do we carry such a heavy burden on our shoulders, when all we have to do is lay it down at His feet? He wants to help us but we are too stubborn and prideful to accept his offer of help. It is so fun to watch God solve our problems and meet our needs in ways we would never expect. So go ahead! Lay your burden at Jesus' feet and LEAVE it there! Now, get ready to watch Him work it out!
