Charleston Cemetery of Lorain, Ohio

Charleston Cemetery of Lorain, Ohio This cemetery was founded by the early settlers of Lorain, Ohio. My pictures on this website are from my collection spanning from 1984 to the present.

I chose to design my own page since I have been the caretaker since 1984 working along with Charleston Village and the previous Black River Historical Society, and the city of Lorain. I am not the memorial holder for this cemetery on findagrave. These are my personnel pictures and data that I have worked very hard for over 30 years.

This is Graham Patterson Lamb 1807-1870. With his daughter Louisa Lamb Rose. Mr Lamb is buried here at the Charleston Cemetery. Permission to post this from his relative Rossana Scarpa whose Aunt had this picture in possession from her grandmother Louise Lamb Davis. It is wonderful to see a face to the name.......Update Due to some questions regarding age of photo ,and Graham Lamb, I have to do some more research regarding this fellow. Both of his sons had Graham as middle names. Could this be Timothy Graham Lamb or Selah the other son? And could this be Walter Rose .Louisa's spouse? Thank You for your patience.

156 years ago today Simeon Shepard died.. returning lost headstone to his final resting place. Henrietta township employees picked it up this morning. Not sure how this got here in Lorain, but he died in Henrietta. Many possible ideas came to light but the headstone is safe and belongs next to his other one . Rest in peace Simeon.

Thank You Lorain Street Dept for the mowing this morning and also to your employees who carefully straightened out the broken headstones for me and trimmed the grounds. I added the flags today and was visited by some neighborhood children who were very sad about what happened here. This will take some time to figure out repairs and the next steps needed to further upkeep. Thank You everyone for your kindness.
