We're excited to bring you "Path of Miracles," Joby Talbot’s 2005 semi-staged contemporary choral work tracing the Camino de Santiago. Drawing on medieval texts, Catholic liturgy, and sung in seven languages, the piece weaves global musical influences into a moving meditation on endurance and unity, creating a shared journey of fortitude, reflection, and transformation.

🫧 One last bubble for summer… 🫧

Labor Day always feels like that little pause between seasons—the last taste of summer before routines return, and the calendar starts filling up again.

As we enjoy this long weekend, may we take a moment to be grateful for the work God has given us, for the people who make our communities stronger, and for the simple gifts of summer: sunshine, laughter, long days, and a little time to slow down.

Whether you're spending today working, resting, traveling, grilling, or simply enjoying one of those last beautiful summer moments, we hope you have a safe and joyful Labor Day. ā¤ļø

And as summer comes to a close, remember that God is with us in every season—on busy days and quiet ones, in our work and in our rest.

First Lutheran Church office hours resume as normal tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Happy Labor Day! šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øā¤ļø

Worship is more than what happens during the hour we’re together.

Every Sunday, there are so many people who quietly give their time, gifts, and hearts to make worship at First Lutheran something special.

There are the voices that lead us in song, the musicians who share their gifts through piano, guitar, saxophone, handbells, and more, and those who step up when a special piece of music comes together.

There are the people who arrive early to set up, prepare the sanctuary, arrange tables and supplies, and make sure everything is ready. There are those who stay afterward to clean up and put everything back in place.

There are our ushers and greeters, welcoming people with a smile and helping everyone feel at home. There are those running the slides and technology, making sure words, readings, music, and announcements are where they need to be.

There are those who assist with communion, those who help with the service, those who prepare the altar, those who make sure the little details don't get overlooked—and so many others who step in whenever there is a need.

Some of these gifts are seen by everyone. Many aren't.

But every single one matters.

Worship doesn't happen because of one person. It happens because a community of people comes together and says, ā€œHow can I help?ā€

To everyone who sings, plays, welcomes, sets up, cleans up, serves, clicks, carries, prepares, prays, assists, and gives their time and talents:

Thank you. ā¤ļø

You may not always realize how much your contribution matters, but it does. You help create a space where we can gather, worship, hear God's Word, receive God's grace, and remind one another that we are not walking this journey alone.

God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday — September 13

On September 13, we’ll celebrate God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday by coming together to assemble Baby Care Kits for families in need. Our goal is to fill 20 kits! Thank you to everyone who has donated items or made a monetary contribution. Together, we can put our faith into action and share God’s love through our hands and hearts.

As we welcome September, we thank You for the changing seasons and for the new beginnings this month brings. As schedules fill, children return to school, and the days begin to change, remind us to slow down and notice Your presence in the ordinary moments.

Guide our hearts to be people of kindness, patience, generosity, and grace. Give strength to those who are weary, comfort to those who are hurting, and hope to those who need a reminder that they are never alone.

May our church family continue to be a place where people feel welcomed, loved, and encouraged. Help us carry Your light beyond our walls and into our homes, workplaces, schools, and community.

Bless this new month, Lord, and help us walk through each day trusting You.

Amen. ā¤ļø

šŸ May September bring you renewed hope, fresh beginnings, and countless reminders of God’s goodness.

🚧 PARKING LOT CLOSURE — PLEASE PLAN AHEAD! 🚧

Just a heads-up to our church family and friends: our parking lot will be closed Wednesday, September 2, and Thursday, September 3 for resurfacing.

🚫 The parking lot will not be accessible during this time.

If you need to stop by the church on Wednesday or Thursday, please plan to park elsewhere and walk to the building, or consider waiting until Sunday, when the parking lot will be available again.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make improvements to our parking lot!

Thank you, and we’ll see you Sunday!

šŸ’› WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! šŸ’›

Yesterday, we had the joy of welcoming new members into the First Lutheran family during worship!

There is something so beautiful about gathering around the same table, sharing in the same faith, and saying, ā€œYou belong here.ā€

To our newest members: we are so glad you’re here. Thank you for choosing to become part of this community of faith. We look forward to getting to know you, worshiping alongside you, learning from you, laughing with you, and walking together through all that life brings.

Church is more than a building or a Sunday morning. It is people—people who show up for one another, make room for one another, and remind each other that we never walk this journey alone.

What a blessing it was to celebrate you yesterday!

Welcome to First Lutheran. We’re so happy you’re here. ā¤ļøā›Ŗ

There’s always room at the table.

This Sunday is a special one at First Lutheran! We’ll be welcoming and celebrating our new members as they officially become part of our church family. We are so grateful they have chosen to walk alongside us in faith, worship, service, and community. ā¤ļø

And because it’s the **Fifth Sunday**, we’re celebrating the best way we know how — by gathering around the table! šŸ½ļø

Join us after worship for our Fifth Sunday Potluck! Bring a favorite dish to share, pull up a chair, and stay awhile. Whether you’re new to First Lutheran, have been here for years, or are simply looking for a place to belong, you have a place at our table.

We can’t wait to worship, welcome, eat, laugh, and celebrate together!
