DAY 4 | Answering the call to Serve

True greatness in the Kingdom of God is measured by how humbly and selflessly we serve others.

Biblical leadership is defined by being a servant leader and ministering to all, which is the expected service of those who are followers of Christ.

Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

God has a special place for each of us to serve, and we have chosen to follow His path. We are the hands, the feet, the voice, and the Love of God expressed in many different ways. We have chosen to honor Him, as we serve in His name.

Father, we are so honored to be used by You here at CNC

DAY 3 | Serving = Good Steward

Proverbs 29:3 says:
“Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.”

Then Proverbs 29:18 says:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

These two verses connect powerfully together.

People without vision often spend all of their substance because they only see the present moment. There is no thought for tomorrow. No thought for purpose. No thought for stewardship.

All they know is: “I have it right now.”

But wisdom sees further.

God has placed things into our hands, and we are called to serve Him by being faithful with what He entrusts to us.

Serving God is not only standing behind a pulpit.
It is not only being an usher, singer, or pastor.

Serving God also means being faithful stewards.

When God gives resources, opportunities, finances, gifts, or provision, we are called to guard and manage those things wisely.

A servant protects what belongs to the master.

This is why Proverbs says: “he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

To keep means to guard, preserve, protect, and watch over.

When we save wisely, steward faithfully, and protect what God has placed in our hands, we are operating in obedience and wisdom.

Without vision, substance is wasted.
Without stewardship, increase disappears.

But vision teaches us to protect what God has given because we understand it has purpose beyond today.

DAY 2 | Serve in Love

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, 16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. Galatians 1:15-17 NKJV

What motivates us to serve? Are we doing it because we fear God? Is our motivation to receive blessings from God? Or are we serving because we adore God and want to please Him more than anything? As we read and study God's Word and our hearts become His heart, our minds are renewed and our goals in life change. We become Kingdom thinkers and our life becomes centered on the things of God. It is our joy to release the Holy Spirit wherever we go and with whomever God connects us. There is no work mentality in this kind of service. Whether sweeping a floor, cleaning a toilet or speaking to thousands, our motivation must be love and devotion, if we are not to lose our joy. When I was a little girl, every now and then I would clean the bathroom really thoroughly, just because I wanted to. I was always so excited for my mother to see it and realize I did it without her asking me. My motivation was totally to please her and doing it filled me with joy. This is the way we should be serving the Lord; excited for Him to enjoy what we have done because we love Him.Dear Lord, I want to please You with my life. There is no other goal that equals that of doing Your will. I adore You and You alone. Amen.

Good Morning CNC family,

Welcome to the month of June.

This month our daily devotionals will be on Serving.

Throughout this month, we will explore what it means to follow the example of Jesus through humble, faithful service. Serving is more than something we do—it is a reflection of God's love working through us. Whether in our homes, workplaces, churches, or communities, every act of service has the opportunity to point others to Christ.

As you read these daily devotionals, we pray you will be encouraged, challenged, and inspired to serve with a willing heart, knowing that when we serve others, we are ultimately serving the Lord.

“...Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” Matthew 20:26

In a world that often measures greatness by status, recognition, and influence, Jesus flips the script. He teaches that true greatness is found in serving others: not for applause, but from a heart of love.

Serving isn’t always glamorous. It can look like:
* Showing up when you’re tired
* Helping without being asked
* Giving when no one notices

Yet, these are the very moments that reflect Christ the most. Jesus Himself served humbly, even washing His disciples’ feet. He didn’t just teach service, He lived it.

When we serve, we mirror His heart. We become vessels of His love, extending grace, kindness, and compassion to those around us.

Serving is not about position, it’s about posture.

Lord, give me a heart like Yours: humble and willing to serve. Help me to see the needs around me and respond with love. Remove any pride or selfishness, and teach me to serve with joy, even when no one is watching. Let my life reflect YOU, in all that I do. In Jesus Name, Amen.
