TAKE A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW...
What a joy it was to be with 160+ students and leaders from the Sacramento District at Nazarene Youth Conference in Salt Lake City this past week!
God moved in powerful ways through the worship, speakers, prayer, conversations, and shared experiences. Together, we were challenged to lean into the wonder of God and to remember that God has chosen us because we matter deeply to Him.
Speakers from across the Church of the Nazarene and beyond reminded our students not to allow the enemy’s voice to take up residence in their minds, but instead to listen for the still, small voice of God speaking truth into their lives. We were reminded that while mountaintop experiences are powerful and exciting, real growth often happens in the valley. The Good Potter is continually shaping us into the people He has always designed us to be.
We were also challenged to stay close to the flock, because sheep that stay together are less likely to drift and become vulnerable to the enemy’s attack. And we are sent out with this powerful reminder: we were made to carry Jesus into the world.
This experience has given me great hope for the future of the Church. Students across our district are listening to the voice of God, responding to His call, and being shaped for His mission. I encourage every church to double down on your investment in the next generation. They are not just the future of the Church; they are a gift to the Church today. May we cherish them as such.
Thank you to every leader, sponsor, church, parent, and supporter who gave time, energy, prayer, and resources to make it possible for our students to experience NYC. Let us continue to pray that what God began this week will grow and bear fruit in the days ahead.
This is not the end. We are only getting started.
And may we be prayerful that even more students from the Sacramento District will experience NYC 2029 in Houston, Texas!
