Each year our presbytery hosts Covfamikoi, a presbytery camp that has met since the 1940s. The number of people who have been converted, grown in faith, sensed a call to the pastorate or mission field, and even found their spouse is overwhelming. Lifelong friendships are also made and developed. As an RP minister, I have heard story after story about its importance.
This camp (although we meet on an air-conditioned college campus) is a great way for our congregation to spend quality time together, worship together, learn together, and grow as a church. Our deacons make every effort to pay for all the children to attend. We hope that many of you register to attend.
When I was a new Reformed Presbyterian, back in my late college days, Dr. Roy Blackwood (a legend among RPs) told me, "Nathan, if you want to really get to know the RPCNA, come to Covfamikoi. There you see us for who we are, warts and all."
Let's make a good showing at Covfamikoi this year. If you are new to the congregation, I promise you'll appreciate going. If you are an old-timer, come and renew friendships. Ask around the congregation, "Why should I go to Covfamikoi?" You will get some good answers!
