Are we following Jesus because we love Him—or because of what He can give us?

In John 6:22–40, the crowd went looking for Jesus after witnessing the miracle of the loaves and fish. But Jesus challenged them to look deeper. They were seeking Him because they had been fed, but He wanted them to understand that He is more than the source of temporary blessings.

We can follow Jesus for the wrong reasons too.

For the blessing.
For the miracle.
For the breakthrough.
For the answer.
For what He can do for us.

But Jesus calls us to something greater: to seek Him, trust Him, and receive Him as the Bread of Life.
The question isn't simply, “Are you following Jesus?” The question is: “Why are you following Jesus?”

Sometimes we can have the right idea—but the wrong timing.

In John 6, the crowd witnessed Jesus feed 5,000 people and wanted to make Him king. Their desire wasn’t necessarily wrong—but they wanted to put Jesus in a position He hadn’t called them to put Him in, and at a time that wasn’t God’s timing.

How often do we do the same thing? We see what God could do, we have a good idea of what should happen, and then we try to make it happen our way and on our schedule.

But God’s timing is always better than our urgency.

Sometimes the answer isn’t “No.”
Sometimes it’s “Not yet.”

When Jesus Asks for the Impossible

In the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus asked His disciples to do something that seemed completely impossible—feed a massive crowd with only five loaves and two fish. But Jesus was never limited by what they had; He was asking them to trust Him with what seemed insufficient.

Sometimes God will ask you to step into something that is far beyond your ability, resources, or understanding. The question isn’t, “Do I have enough?” The question is, “Do I trust the One who does?”

What looks impossible in your hands becomes more than enough in the hands of Jesus. Bring Him what you have, obey what He asks, and watch what He can do. 🙏

Baptism isn’t just getting wet—it’s a public declaration that your old life is gone and your new life belongs to Jesus.

Buried with Christ. Raised to new life. Walking forward in faith.

Baptism doesn’t mean you’re perfect. It means you’ve decided who you belong to.

What does it really mean to honor God? Jesus makes it clear: how we respond to the Son reveals how we truly respond to the Father.

In John 5, Jesus declares His authority, His relationship with the Father, and the truth that eternal life is found in Him. You cannot separate the Father from the Son—to honor the Son is to honor the Father who sent Him.

Join us as we look at the authority of Jesus, the witness that confirms who He is, and the call to believe in the One who gives life.

Jesus deserves more than admiration—He deserves honor, faith, and obedience.

Faith is more than believing—it's responding.

In John 5:1–15, Jesus met a man who had been waiting for change for 38 years. With one command—"Get up, pick up your mat, and walk"—everything changed. But the miracle didn't happen apart from obedience. The man had to act on the word Jesus spoke.

Join us this Sunday as we discover how genuine faith moves beyond hope into action. When we trust God's Word enough to obey it, He can do what only He can do.
