“God Is Ordering My Steps”

“See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” — Revelation 3:8

Few things are more discouraging than a closed door. It can cause you to question your direction, your decisions, and even your value. But hear this today: a closed door is not the end of your story. Often, it is God’s divine redirection.

Perhaps the job you depended on ended unexpectedly. Perhaps the home you hoped to purchase or that apartment you planned to rent slipped away. Perhaps a relationship you believed would lead to marriage came to an abrupt end. What felt like a setback may have been the hand of God protecting, preparing, and positioning you for something greater.

God sees what you cannot see. He knows what is ahead, and He never closes a door without purpose. What appears to be a denial may actually be deliverance. What feels like a loss may be God’s way of leading you to a better opportunity, a healthier relationship, or a higher calling.

Remember this truth: When God closes a door, He is not canceling your future—He is clearing the path for His purpose. The door that closed behind you cannot compare to the door God is preparing before you.

Even now, God is arranging circumstances and preparing doors that align with His plan for your life. The right door will not require you to force your way through. When God opens a door, no person, obstacle, or circumstance can shut it.

So do not lose heart. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep moving forward. Refuse to become stuck in disappointment or distracted by what did not work out. God is ordering your steps, and in His perfect timing, the right door will open.

Declare this over yourself today: “I trust God with every closed door, knowing that He is ordering my steps and preparing the right door to open in His perfect timing.”.

“Time Flies”

“Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a v***r that appears for a little while and then vanishes away” (James 4:14, NIV).

Today’s scripture challenges us to keep life in perspective. It reminds us that we all are on earth for a short time. During our time here, it is important for us to spend our time wisely, doing things that matter, and letting go of those things that are distractions.

What are the things that matter most in life? Well, the most important thing in life is to connect with Jesus, with family, and with other people—People in our homes, people in our Christian family, in the community, and everywhere we go.

When we make Jesus our highest priority, He rallies around us to ease the burden of everyday issues. He looks to and fro for issues that need to be headed off, for unanticipated needs that must be cared for, and He goes about the business of cutting a path to make things happen for us.

Because none of us knows what our lives will be like tomorrow, Jesus tells us to seek Him first each day and everything else will fall into place. If things have not fallen into place yet, it is not God’s appointed time for them to do so.

Your challenge for the day is to live today putting God, His people, and your personal relationships above everything else. Make a deliberate effort to release those things that are a distraction. And let go of those things that are a disruption. Try to consult God in everything as you go about your daily business today. And nurture those relationships that really matter.

“My God”

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me” (Jeremiah 32:27, ESV)?

In today’s scripture, God told Jeremiah that He would allow King Nebuchadnezzar to set Jerusalem on fire because of Israel’s idolatry and disobedience. Yet, in the same breath, God promised He would eventually restore His people and everything they had lost. Isn’t that just like God? The very thing that brought you sadness turned out to be the biggest blessing of your life.

God’s Word can always be trusted, even when we can’t see how it will come to pass. He is always faithful to fulfill His promises—even when we cannot see a way forward.

Our responsibility is not to figure out how God will do it. Our job is to remember that He has unlimited power and infinite resources. God calls us to handle what we can—and when things grow too heavy, He commands us to place them in His hands through prayer and trust.

Carry this with you today: What seems impossible to you requires no effort at all for God. When you’ve done all you can and come up short, that’s when God steps in and shows His authority over every person and every situation.

So, pray about that burden you cannot fix:
– That heartache that lingers after loss.
– That child whose behavior breaks your heart.
– That job search that seems to go nowhere.
– That loved one walking a path you do not understand.
Stay in faith. Wait on the Lord. And keep praying until something happens.

He is the God of all flesh—and nothing is too hard for Him.

“Just a Matter of Time”

The angel said to Daniel, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.” — Daniel 10:12

Sometimes answers to prayer do not come overnight. They take time. Today’s scripture reassures us that God is at work even when He appears to be silent.

The Bible tells us that God heard Daniel’s prayer the very first day he prayed. God dispatched an angel with the answer immediately. But the answer was delayed because of spiritual warfare.

As soon as God sent the messenger angel to bring Daniel the answer, the forces of darkness waged war against him. For three weeks, the messenger angel battled demonic opposition while trying to reach Daniel. The Bible says the conflict became so intense that the messenger angel needed assistance. As a result, God dispatched Michael, one of the chief angels, to take over the battle and free the messenger angel to deliver the answer.

Today’s scripture reminds us that spiritual warfare is real. Daniel waited three weeks before his answer arrived. The lesson for us is simple: never give up while waiting on God. You may have been waiting for weeks, months, or even years. Keep waiting, because patience pays off.

The enemy will do whatever he can, within the limits God allows, to make you doubt God’s promises. However, God is faithful, and He always has the final word.

If you are praying for an answer, keep praying. If you are trusting God to fulfill a promise, keep trusting. If you are believing God for something specific, keep believing. And if you are waiting for God to meet a pressing need, keep waiting. In due season, your breakthrough will come.
It is just a matter of time.

“Do God’s Will”

The first recorded miracle of Jesus sets the stage for what is ultimately the foundation of our Christian faith; trust and belief in Jesus. We all know the story, Jesus shows up at a wedding with His mother and His disciples. The host of the ceremony soon runs out of wine, and Jesus’s mother makes a statement that implies that Jesus should do something. “They have no more wine.” Jesus concedes to His mother and tells the servants to fill near-by water jars with water, and just like that these servants who were doing just what they were told to do, find themselves right in the middle of a first-hand lesson on the power and the authority of Jesus.

John 2:7, 8 (NLT) records it like this; “Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.

It turns out the water had turned into the best wine, and Jesus’s glory is revealed to the servants. Imagine that, the first people to see a miracle from Jesus were servants. And here is where I want to encourage someone today. Practical application leads to divine revelation.

As servants of Jesus, obedience to His commands puts us in the best position to receive His blessings. When we are engaged in doing the things He has told us to do He reveals not only His power, but the power we possess through Him. Applying the principles of God opens the door to revelation from God.

I know that it is hard to stay positive and work hard when your boss is always on your back, but staying positive is where your power is. It’s hard to do good for the neighbor who constantly talks behind your back, but doing good for them is where your power is. It is not an easy task to continue praying and pouring your love out on a spouse that seems to have lost interest, but love is where your power is. So, where ever you find yourself today, good or bad, happy or sad, hold fast to the will of God and watch Him turn what seems bad into something wonderful.

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless”. (1 Corinthians 15:58, NLT)

“Practical application leads to divine revelation.”

“Give It to God”

“Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7, NKJV).

Doubt is one of the things the enemy uses to keep us from walking by faith. We know what the Word of God says. And we want to believe it.

Nevertheless, sometimes, as we look at our circumstances, our mind and common sense tell us our situation is impossible. When doubt sets in, we have lost focus on what God’s Word has promised us. Doubt is a sure sign that we are focused on what we see, on what other people are saying, and on what might happen.

Peter warns us in 1 Peter 5:8 to “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” And Peter goes on to command us, “Stand firm against him [the enemy] and be strong in your faith” (1 Peter 5:9, NLT).

Whenever you feel yourself doubting that God will come through for you or whenever you are feeling anxious about a situation, cast your cares upon the Lord. How? To cast literally means to throw every care and every anxiety to God by praying to Him. He will catch it. He will work it. He will relieve you of it. And He will give you peace about it—from the big areas of your life down to the smallest aspects of your daily routine. Jesus says when you give your problems to Him through prayer, “the peace of God, will surround you, and it will guard your heart and your mind.”

Today, cast your cares upon the Lord because He is the only one with the power to do anything about your worries. And He will keep you at peace while He works things out.

“Divine Guidance”

“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” — Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV)

Many of us wrestle with the question: What is God’s will for my life? Today’s scripture assures us that God is not distant or secretive about His plans. He promises to instruct, teach, and guide us. He does not simply point us in a general direction. He walks with us, watching over every step.

God’s will is not a puzzle to figure out on our own. He equips us to carry out His purpose, placing within us the gifts and passions needed for the path ahead. He shapes our character, sharpens our discernment, and lovingly corrects us when we stray. His voice becomes familiar as we spend time in His Word and in prayer. Even when the road feels unclear, His Spirit gently nudges us, guarding us from wrong turns and guiding us back to His perfect plan.

You do not have to fear missing His will. He is faithful to lead you. Trust Him. Stay close to His heart. He is your guide, your teacher, and your ever-present help. And as you walk with Him, you will find peace in knowing that God’s plan is always good, and His direction is always sure.

“Tap Into God’s Plan”

“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:16).

Today’s scripture reminds us that God has already arranged our day. God planned every day of our lives before we were born. He has already worked out everything that concerns us. And He has already laid out His plans to meet our needs before the need shows up.

The question this morning is not “what will today bring?” The question is “how do you tap into God’s plans for your day?”

The first step to tap into God’s plan for your day is to bloom where God has planted you. That is, be consistently faithful where you are, using what you have to do your best. The way you move from adversity to deliverance is to abide where you are and praise your way up.

The second step is to ask God what His plans are for you today. Make plans but ask God to breathe on those plans and get them in line with what He wants you to focus on. You will be surprised how God will turn your plans around just because you invited Him in.

The third step to tap into God’s plans for your day is to be on alert for God’s voice. Be reminded that He speaks with clarity through His Word. Begin your day with a scripture. And set aside time for God to speak to your heart. When you get quiet before Him, you will quickly discern His voice from all the other voices that are competing for your attention.

The final step to tap into God’s plan for your day is to put yourself in a holding pattern when the way is not clear. Wait in particular when there are two “good” choices, or two good answers and they both seem to be the right choice. Wait while God eliminates one and clears the way for the other.

Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God’s plans for your day are always good (not to harm you) and His plans are always laid out to bring good to you (hope and a future). Your job is to trust Him. His job is to deliver on what He promised you. So, move throughout the day as if every minute was already laid out before you woke up this morning.

“The Battle for Your Mind”

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace” (Romans 8:6, NKJV).

Every day, a battle is being fought—not around us, but within us. It is the battle for our mind. The enemy knows that if he can influence our thoughts, he can affect our choices, our attitude, and even our walk with God. That is why Paul reminds us that there are only two directions for the mind: one leads to death, and the other leads to life and peace.

The carnal mind focuses on self, follows feelings over faith, and relies on human understanding rather than God’s truth. It may promise fulfillment, but it often leaves us anxious, frustrated, and spiritually empty. The flesh can never produce the abundant life God intends for us to have.

But when we set our minds on the Spirit, everything changes. We begin to view our circumstances through God’s promises instead of our fears. We seek His wisdom, trust His guidance, and find peace even in the midst of life’s challenges.

Your reminder for today is this: Winning the battle for your mind is not a one-time decision. It is a daily commitment. It is choosing God’s Word over worldly influences, prayer over worry, and faith over doubt. As you surrender your thoughts to the Lord, He renews your mind and strengthens your heart.

Today, be intentional about what occupies your thoughts. Fix your mind on the things of God, and you will discover the life, peace, and purpose that come from walking in step with His Spirit. The battle is real, but through Christ, victory is possible.

“Thank You God”

“What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people” (Psalm 116:12-14).

The Psalmist asks himself a question this morning. He asks, “What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me?” (Psalm 116:12) And He answers himself, “I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people.” (Psalm 116:13-14) In other words, the Psalmist says to thank God, he will do what He promised God He will do. He will live the way God says he should live. And he will give of his time, his energy, and his means in order to move God’s program forward.

God does something good for each of us every second of the day. He supplies us air to breathe. He orchestrates the motion of our limbs. He regulates our reasoning ability. He protects us during our going out and coming in, and He shields us from the forces of evil. God protects our aging loved ones no matter how near or how far they are. He looks out for the youngest of our family members as they innocently flirt with danger. And, God times things just right so we can avoid certain hazards as we drive along the dangerous highways.

What can we give back to a God who owns everything? How do we say thank you to God for all the spiritual and material blessings he has poured into our lives? How do we say thank you to Him for always helping us out of a tight spot? In our scripture this morning, the Psalmist gives us three ways we can say thank you to God today. 1) The first way to say thank you to God is by giving Him praise when He least expects it. A “thank you” in the middle of our adverse situation will please God and make Him smile. 2) Say thank you to God today by being a positive witness in the presence of all His people.

On-lookers watch what we do, listen for what we say, and observe how we act and react. 3) The third way to say thank you to God is by going the extra mile to help someone when we do not feel like it.

Today, make an intentional effort to say thank you to God through your actions. How? Be a good example. Reach out and help someone. And praise your way through negative situations.
