“Rejoice, Pray and Be Thankful”
By Dianne Prince

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

In our scripture today, we are reminded that in addition to salvation, God’s will for us is to be content in every state and under all conditions. His will is for us to rejoice always. It is not in God’s plan for us to allow our joy to be stolen by the enemy or to allow our joy to be held captive by those whose sole intent is to upset our day.

Further, God’s will also is for us to pray continually. Continuous prayer does not mean to pray without interruption. To pray continuously means to maintain an attitude of prayer as we go about our daily business and it means to seek God’s guidance at every turn. When we are afraid, pray. When the enemy disrupts our faith, pray. When we cannot find a parking spot, pray. And when we get an unexpected medical diagnosis, dig in and pray.

Yes, God’s will for us is to rejoice always, to pray continually, and finally, God’s will for us is to give thanks in all circumstances. It pleases God not only when we thank Him for the good times, but He smiles when we thank Him in the midst of an unfavorable, painful, worrisome experience. Why? Because both good and bad are needed for us to become stronger in our faith and for us to learn to stand on the promises of God during hard times. And thanksgiving tells God that we are trusting Him with the outcome although what we see and what we are hearing is not in our favor.

Today, make a deliberate effort to rejoice through the good and the bad, to pray about everything and to give thanks in all circumstances.

“Remembering Sacrifice, Resting in Hope”
By Dianne Prince

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. – John 15:13 (NKJV)

On this Memorial Day, we pause with grateful hearts to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to others. Their sacrifice reminds us of the sacrifice that Jesus made for each of us.

Like a child sleeping peacefully, unaware of the parent keeping watch through the night, many of the freedoms and blessings we enjoy each day were secured through someone else’s sacrifice. Memorial Day calls us not to take those gifts for granted. Even more, it points us to the greatest love of all through Christ, who gave Himself so we could live with hope, peace, and freedom.

Today is not only a day of remembrance, but also a time for reflection. We honor courage, faithfulness, and the strength God gives to those who endure sacrifice and loss. For every family carrying both treasured memories and deep sorrow, may the peace of Christ rest gently upon them today.

Even in solemn moments, God remains the keeper of hope. He is near to the brokenhearted. He is faithful to comfort us, and able to bring light into every heavy place. As we remember those who served with honor, may we renew our commitment to live with gratitude, to love with compassion, and to move with purpose.

May the Lord bless you, strengthen you, and surround you with His perfect peace today and always.

“Release It”
By Dianne Prince

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14, NKJV).

There are three things that will hinder our spiritual growth and interfere with our ability to move forward. Firstly, dwelling on the past encompasses holding onto regrets regarding our past decisions, feeling shame over our past actions, and experiencing overwhelming guilt over past dealings.

Secondly, hindrance can come from people, especially those in our immediate circle who are not moving in the same direction as we are, those who drag us down, and those who bring out the worst in us. It is important to note that this does not apply to individuals we are married to; the Bible provides different guidelines for married couples, a topic for another discussion.

In addition to living in the past and surrounding ourselves with negative influences, the third hindrance to progress is holding grudges against someone who wronged us many years ago.

Today’s scripture instructs us to leave behind draining relationships, regrets, and grudges. We achieve this by first, confiding in God. Share with Him if you are struggling to move past a person or situation. Then, seek His guidance. Ask Him how to focus on the present and the future. Finally, follow His instructions. By following God’s guidance, He will remove obstacles hindering your growth and nurture you in areas where it is needed most.

Today, make a conscious decision to release what you are holding onto. You cannot take hold of anything new until you let go of the past. Resolve to release past relationships that are not beneficial and negative feelings towards others. Open your hand and grasp the freedom that comes with letting go of the past.

“Watch and Pray”
By Dianne Prince

“Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:4-5, NKJV).

In today’s scripture, the enemy struck up a conversation with Eve. Although God told Adam in Genesis 2:17, “You shall surely die if you eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil,” the devil came along in Genesis 3:4 and said to Eve, “The day you [Eve] eat from the tree you will NOT die.” He told her instead of dying, she would become wise like God. Eve believed him and she ate. Then, she convinced her husband to eat also. You know the story. The fruit did not make Eve wise as the devil promised her. Instead, it caused all of mankind to fall into a perpetual state of sin and it brought spiritual and physical death into what was a perfect world.

That one small, three letter word “not” that the enemy added to God’s Word, completely changed the meaning of scripture, and completed altered the course of the history and the destiny of mankind. The devil took God’s Word and manipulated it to accomplish His purpose. His purpose was to trick man into disobeying God.

Today, the devil is still in the business of manipulating the Word of God. He works day-in and day-out to manipulate our minds, our feelings, our outlook, and our understanding in order to accomplish his purpose. What is his purpose? His purpose is twofold: 1) to impact our decisions to the point that we are no longer a positive witness for Christ to those around us and 2) to disrupt the close relationship that we enjoy with God.

Be reminded today that the devil cannot steal your salvation, but He can make your life miserable along the way. He can damage your reputation causing others to fall away. And he can negatively impact the influence you have on those around you. Be mindful that what looks good or what sounds good on the surface may not be good for you. Think twice about anything that tickles your senses. It may be temptation conjured up by the enemy, disguised as being from God.
When making business decisions, beware of claims that are too good to be true. When making personal decisions, be cautious before moving forward on the advice you receive from those around you. And always rely on God’s Word and God’s Word alone when deciding which course of action to take.

Today, make sure you watch as well as pray, and be on guard against the enemy’s deception.

“Abundant Living”
Rev. Everett R. Kimble, Sr.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10, KJV).”

God has a plan of love and power for your life. Satan, on the other hand, has a plan of death and destruction for you. God’s plan is rooted in obedience Satan’s plan is rooted in indulgence. The struggle for us is recognizing and understanding which plan we are following.

The plan of God emanates from deep within our souls, and it empowers us to press on despite the condition of the world around us. When we are sick, we take comfort because we know that God is a healer. When a job loss or financial hardship hits us, we are confident because we know that God will provide. When relationships and communication are in chaos at home, we look to Him because we know that He is a fixer. And when it looks as if the answer may not come we are at peace because we know that He is an on-time God. Because we are rooted and grounded in God, we gain our strength from His spirit that lives in us. This is what it means to have “the abundant life.”

Satan plans however, is to lure us in by feeding our selfish desires, a new car, a big house, a big payday, fame, recognition, and the big seat at the table. And while having some or all of these things is not an indication that you are on the wrong path, the wrong attitude about having and getting these things is. If you believe that the abundant life is all about things, that’s the wrong attitude. So, what can you do to make sure you are seeking the abundant life God has for you?

First, make sure you know and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Paul says that everything that he does is so that he may “know Christ, the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering.” (Philippians 3:10, KJV)

Next, knowing Him means putting your trust in Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds you to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path.”

And finally, just love Him. Jesus says in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Bottom line, if you spend your time getting to know Jesus, it will be easy to trust Him, and when you trust Him loving and obeying Him becomes natural. Fellowship with Jesus is the abundant life.

It is safe to say that Satan is going to try and steal your joy and break your fellowship with Jesus, but here is my encouragement for you; resist selfish indulgence, maintain your obedience, engage in benevolence and the abundant life will be all yours.

Have an abundantly blessed and beautiful Friday!

“The Will to Stand Still”
By Dianne Prince

“He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength” (Isaiah 40:29, NKJV).

God never promised us that we would have everything we desire. He never promised us that He would give us those things that make us comfortable. And he never promised us that we would always have days filled with certainty. But what He promised us is that He would supply all our needs according to His will for our lives.

God never promised us that we would not have to struggle, but He promised us that He would give us strength to get through tricky situations. And He promised us that He would give us power to stand still until He moves in our situation. Strength comes through reading His Word, and power comes through applying His promises to our situation.

Our strength for the daily struggles of life comes from God’s promise in Isaiah 40:29-31. “He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint” (NIV).

Our power for the journey in the midst of our weakness comes from God’s Word in Ephesians 3:20 that promises, “He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you ask or think, according to the power that worketh in you” (Ephesians 3:20, NIV).

Are you worn down by a nagging situation in your life? Are you frustrated by a loved one who is not listening to your sound advice? Are you aggravated by a problem that seems to have no end in sight? If yes, ask God what to do about it and ask Him to help you stand still.

When you ask for strength to tolerate your situation and believe that God will strengthen you, He will freely give you exactly what you ask. Ask Him in faith, without wavering, and without doubting. He will supply you with the fortitude to endure.

He will give you the level of tolerance needed to put up with your environment. He will give you the power to overcome the desire to take matters into your own hands. And He will give you the will to stand still until your liberation comes.

“Fleeting Troubles and Shifting Sands”
By Dianne Prince

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2, NKJV).

It is easy to become consumed by the noise of everyday life. Bills to pay, deadlines to meet, social media updates, and the constant pressure to succeed can flood our minds. We often dwell on what we lack, what we fear, or what we desire, allowing these earthly concerns to steal our peace and our perspective.

Think of how easily we fixate on a negative comment or obsess over material wants. We scroll endlessly, compare relentlessly, and worry needlessly. These distractions subtly pull our thoughts away from the eternal and anchor them in the temporary.

But Scripture calls us to a higher focus—to lift our eyes and our minds above the chaos. When we set our minds on Christ, we begin to see through His lens: one of peace, purpose, and promise.

The question for you to ponder is this: What are you allowing to take up mental space that should be reserved for God? Today, slow down. Take a deep breath. Recalibrate your thinking. Invite Him into your thoughts. Let His truth replace your worries.

You were made for more than the fleeting troubles of this world. Fix your gaze on the One who never changes. He is your steady ground in shifting sands. Keep looking up and not around. Up is where you will find everything you need.

“God’s Constant Presence”
By Dianne Prince

“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me” (Psalm 139:17-18, NLT)!

Every now and then, we all go through a period of feeling like we are all alone. We allow our faith to be hijacked by our thoughts and we allow our peace to be disrupted by our emotions.

Today’s scripture is a powerful reminder that we are never alone, and we can find comfort in knowing that God is always with us. His thoughts of us are always in His mind.

Imagine picking up a hand full of sand at the beach. It is illogical to count the grains of just one handful of sand. So, when we look around at all the sand on the beach and multiply that times all the sand in the world, God’s thoughts of us will outnumber all the grains of sand farther than we can see.

With our loved ones, if we know they are facing a difficult situation, thoughts of them will cross our minds off-and-on during the course of a given day. When we think of them, we will send up a quick prayer for God to handle their situation. We can stand in the gap for them through prayer, but we have no power to deliver them from their situation.

God, on the other hand, thinks of each of us, not off-and-on, but continuously and forever. The good news is this: not only is God always thinking about us; but, but He Has the power to do something about our plight. He has the power to fix our problems. And, He has the power lift our spirits above the weight of whatever is weighing us down.

When you feel like you are all alone, when it appears that nothing is going right and when you feel like you are struggling all by yourself, remember that you are always in the perfect view of God. He knows when your spirits are high, and He knows when your spirits are low. He knows when you have what you need, and he knows when your supply is low.

Be encouraged today because you are always in God’s thoughts, and you are always on His mind. Remember, His Word is the perfect “thinking of you” card from Him to You.

“Put Your Faith Into Action”
By Dianne Prince

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6, NJKV).

Faith is not just belief. It is trust in action. Faith is the courage to say “yes” to God even when circumstances scream “no.”

Today’s scripture reminds us that faith is essential to pleasing God. Why? Because faith acknowledges that He is real, present, and actively involved in our lives. It is the boldness to step forward into the unknown, confident that God will meet us there.

Often, we wait for everything to make sense before moving. But faith rarely aligns with human logic. God asks us to step out first. And in that step, the blessings begin to unfold.
Whether it is pursuing a calling, forgiving someone who hurt us, making a life changing decision, or trusting God in financial uncertainty, when we move by faith, our steps open the door to spiritual growth, to a much-needed breakthrough, and to a deeper connection with God.

Faith is not about having it all figured out. It is about believing that God already has. As we earnestly seek Him and say “yes” to His leading, even when it is hard, we position ourselves to receive the rewards He promises.

Your step of faith today could be the key to tomorrow’s miracle. Do not wait for logic to catch up with what God has already confirmed in your spirit. Trust Him. Your blessing is waiting on the other side of your “yes.”

“Revenge Is God’s Job, Not Yours”
By Dianne Prince

“Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord” (Romans 12:19, NIV).

We are all a work in progress. The people we encounter day in and day out are at different levels of spiritual maturity, which influences the degree to which they exhibit Christ-like qualities.

Remember, just like babies act like babies, individuals in their spiritual infancy may demand their own way, speak unkindly, engage in activities contrary to Christian principles, and often resemble the world more than Christ.

Mistreatment is a shared experience in life. Whether through hurtful words, exclusion, or disregard, many of us have felt its sting.

When others wrong us, our instinct might be to seek revenge, to settle the score and inflict the same pain upon them. However, today’s scripture reminds us to respond with kindness and genuine love.

The lesson to carry forward is this: revenge belongs to God, not us. When mistreated, we must relinquish our desire for retaliation and trust in God’s promise to set things right in His time.

So, when tempted to take matters into your own hands, remember that God has it under control. His word assures us, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.”
