If you’ve joined us for a week-long retreat, this book may already feel familiar.

At Oasis in the Pines, we often recommend resources that encourage healthy rhythms in your personal life, marriage, and ministry. One book we continually return to is The Meaning of Marriage: Facing the Complexities of Commitment With the Wisdom of God by Timothy Keller.

Gregg Zachary, Oasis Pastor, shares this about it: “This is probably the second most powerful book I have read that conveys God’s divine design and holy purpose for marriage. It is one of two books I recommend to couples preparing for marriage, as well as those who want to grow and strengthen their marriage.”

At Oasis in the Pines, we’re grateful for the freedom to gather, worship, rest, and build community together. Today is a reminder that freedom comes at a cost, and we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We are so grateful for our volunteers who faithfully show up each retreat week to serve in such meaningful ways - preparing delicious meals, arranging fresh beautiful flowers, and offering the simple but powerful gift of hospitality to every guest at Oasis.

Because of them, the heart of this ministry is felt in every detail, and each retreat runs with such care and warmth.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! Today, we’re so grateful for the women who help shape the heart of Oasis in the Pines.

Sonya serves as the Senior Director of Spiritual Formation at Hope Road Counseling and cares for our guests at Oasis in such a meaningful way. She’s a mom to four grown kids and a proud grandma.

Analisa, our Oasis Minister of Care, brings so much intentional love and presence to this space. She has two sons, two daughters-in-law, and one grandson.

What a gift it is to have women like these pouring into others while also living out their calling as mothers and grandmothers. We’re thankful for the way they serve, lead, and care so well.
