Here is how we tag using Shearwell Eid tags this is what we give our male lambs and the process we follow on our Herdwatch app. We plan to track their weight as well. We can scan the tag in with our phones to enter the lamb in the database but I would still recommend an EID reader for any big group work days etc. and we actually could not get our Gallagher Hr4 to connect to the app as of currently. I can and will update if we do get that to work. Otherwise we will have to get a different one. We switched to Herdwatch because we appreciate the visual aspect of it and the data and graphs you can get. We can also track pasture moves which is important in our operation. It’s not a cheap app and we are working through some kinks but it’s been decent.

I can confirm My sister Rancher's Roost has her shipping 🛻 down! These made their way from MT to Kansas and they are 👌✨. The incubator is warming up. 🔥 I’ll be hatching some black Copper Marans she breeds for the standard SOP + egg color and the blue eggs from her cream legbar hen crossed with a Black Copper Maran should give me 🫒 olive eggs. She is the expert though is that right? Meara Blevins lol 😂

We had a great time at the Mid American Dorper Breeders 2026 Sunflower Classic ! It was really awesome to see everyone come together to make it happen. We are back to the hills watching over our flocks. We wanted to thank the buyers of our commercial pens of 3. Our goal is to breed sheep that work - that live out in the pasture and produce for you in their natural environment. Here are our young ones at home the same program that all 9 commercials came straight from.

It’s been non stop since the start date April 25 ! We have had just over 300 lambs in less than 2 weeks. It’s been really going well! Our average birth weight of just over 9lbs currently — and other than having a few stuck on our maiden ewes. Something really clicked around fostering lambs this round — and we are having nice success there. It’s going to be OUR year
