Our affiliation is with the Christian & Missionary Alliance, a worldwide evangelical denomination founded in 1887, with many serving overseas in mission work. In 1987, after meeting at Old Farmers Road School for 10 years, worship began at our present location. On March 18, 2012, we began to worship in our Family Life Center, which includes a library, kitchen, nursery, toddler rooms, and classrooms. We are a fellowship of believers from varied religious backgrounds and traditions, all sharing a common love for Jesus Christ. Mission

Jesus taught us to pray, "Give us our daily bread." That's a very different mindset from praying, "Pay us what you owe us." Praying this reminds us that everything we have is a gift from God, and remembering this connects us with God's goodness and His grace in our lives.

Today, Pastor Jeff reminds us we should never overlook the profound privilege of asking our Heavenly Father to meet our basic needs. And doing so brings benefits that extend far beyond the meeting of those needs.

Praying "Your kingdom come," is not first a plea for change or for help. It is most essentially a prayer of surrender. It is affirming that we have given the kingdom of our lives over to its rightful King.

The arrival of God's Kingdom was something Jesus often spoke about. And he called it good news! That means when we pray, "Your kingdom come," as He taught us, we are declaring something he has already provided, and we are accepting an invitation to a new reality we're invited to enter through faith in Jesus Christ.

When we pray, "your kingdom come," we often mean, "your kingdom come 'out there,'" - in other people's lives and in circumstances around us. Today, Pastor Jeff asks, what if Jesus meant something different? What if Jesus wanted us to pray, "your kingdom come in my life, and in my 'inner world?'"

Jesus taught his disciples to hallow God's Name. Though this is the correct posture before God, this is something none of us can do without God's direct help. Why would Jesus direct us to do something we are unable to do on our own? Because it is crucial that we understand that we simply cannot approach God without His help.

When Jesus taught his disciples how to pray he taught them to pray, "May your name be hallowed" which is request, not simply a proclamation. Jesus didn't just direct his disciple to revere God above all else, he directed them to ask God to help them to do this. Is that how we go about putting Him first?

The old word, "hallow," means to treat something as being so special that it is "set apart" in its own place of preeminence in our lives. Jesus taught his disciples to hallow God's name, and therefore to hallow God Himself. But here's the problem... we cannot "hallow" God while we continue to hallow anything else.

Whenever we make a request, hopes of our request being granted rests upon two factors: 1) who we are 2) who the person we've made our request is. Jesus' teaching in Luke 11 reminds us to approach God based on who He is... our Father.
