• The early church was persecuted.

Ephesians 2:1-4
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

2Corinthians 4:1-15
1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

Acts 7:51-60
51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

• This is about Stephen. The apostle that was appointed an apostle when they had lost a member. He was full of the Holy Ghost.
• Jesus said that He would send another comforter.
• Stephen could feel the Spirit and knew that what he was preaching was real. The people didn’t want to hear it so they stoned him.
• Religion cannot save you except by Jesus Christ, your savior.
• When sin creeps into your life, we need to renounce it. We live in a little existence and ask the Lord why He let this happen.
• There are churches that are lukewarm. We know that we’re getting toward the end. The signs are here. Jesus will come back in the sky for us. We will be removed in the twinkling of an eye.
• When Jesus comes into our heart, we are completed.

Revelation 6:9-17
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

• There are people being killed and persecuted today. They aren’t forgotten. Satan will be bound and cast into the pit.
• God loves His people. The Bible says that those who have accepted Christ won’t go through this life alone. The suffering is for today, but Jesus said it’ll all be worth it in the end. He said to pick up our cross and follow Him.
• The day that you accept Christ as your savior, your life changed. We will be persecuted. Will you stand for Him when it’s not easy?
• He gave us a choice to serve Him and live eternally or to burn for eternity.
• There are always consequences to our actions.
• Can you love the people that don’t come to your own church? Can you love those that don’t go to church? It’s not about what church you go to. It’s about how you’re serving Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 12:1-2
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

• Sometimes we feel like everything’s going to be just fine. He’s done so many things for us.
• God called you and He won’t let you down. He’s the author and finisher of our faith.
• Sin is easy. It’s the consequences that are tough. If you think life is bad now, continue to do what you’re doing. The consequences will get worse and worse.
• We need Jesus on the inside working on the outside.
• When we enter into the Holiest of places, think about how important it is to be in the presence of God.
• They that love the Lord, keeps His commandments. We’re supposed to love one another. Sometimes we fall a little short. So, what do we do? We go into the Holiest of Holies and ask the Lord to help us see how God sees us, it all changes.
• We need to grow our fruit from the good vine. We need more Jesus in the world. We need to love each other. Jesus laid down His life for us.
• Our faith needs to be bigger than the troubles of this world.
• The end is close. Don’t wait for anything. Ask the Lord into your heart today. If you wait for a big revival, it may be too late.

1Timothy 2:5
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

• You can call us up and ask us to pray for you, we’ll pray on your behalf but it’s better if you’re praying as well. If you’re waiting for someone else to save you, it won’t happen. You can only be saved by Jesus Christ our Lord.
• If you aren’t serving God, you’ll still live forever. Are you going to spend it with the Lord or with the one that hates you? God is love!
• Jesus came because He loves us. When you enter into the holiest of places, you feel love.
• The things we hold against other people are so small compared to eternity. The things that happen to you in the past, don’t really matter but it helped to bring us closer to God. If you give it to God, he’ll heal the things of our past. Replaying it over and over in your mind doesn’t help anything.

• Some may not like this, but we can’t deny what He has given to us. When we give you what He said, it’s what He said!

Matthew 15:1-6
1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

• We are living in a state of grace.
• Sometimes dishonest things happen in the house of God. There are so many denominations and so many different beliefs.
• We’re trying to build bridges to reach people, and God told me to stop building bridges and close the gap.

Matthew 15:16-20
16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

• This is what God was talking about when the disciples were talking about the church doctrine. The disciples were condemning those who didn’t wash their hands. It’s the spiritual man that we need to be worried about.
• Sin is what defiles man. It comes out of the mouth. Speaking about other Christians shouldn’t take place.
• If someone gives you a false doctrine and you give them what Jesus said, they can’t argue that.
• What are you waiting for? What if you’re the light that they can’t deny.
• Speaking about doctrines doesn’t save people. His word is what saves us.

John 14:6,10-12,21-24
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

• Do you believe that the Father is in us? Then we are in Christ.
• We can’t understand the spiritual contents without the Spirit.

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

• Do we profess to love Jesus? Do we diligently keep His commandments. If we’re honest, we’ll admit that we fall short. We’re all human. In the flesh, we can’t serve the Lord but if we live in the Spirit, then we can keep His commandments.
• Repentance and remission of sin, Jesus comes into our heart.

Matthew 15:7-9
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

• It’s the doctrine that Jesus gave us. If we try to live for God by living church doctrine and customs that don’t go by God’s word, then we aren’t really living by God’s word.
• When you get away from God, evil enters in.
• When you don’t have Jesus as the center of your life, bad things enter in.
• Do we give God the glory every day rather than just on Sunday? Jesus died for our sins. Do you live for Him or doctrine? It’s not what we think is right, it’s what Jesus said. Put that first and foremost in our lives.
• We can sing songs that make us feel good and happy, but we need to reach out to the Lord to get over the devil that bothered us in the past. Give it all to the Lord. He can heal old wounds and separate us from the memories of the past. We all have one but leave it there and listen to what Jesus said.
