Fatherless & Widows

Fatherless & Widows is a non-profit ministry to help bring community awareness regarding the needs of the fatherless and widows. A priority system is in place. Mailing Address: P.O.

The Fatherless and Widows ministry Is entering it’s 10th year of service on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It has served mostly locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The origins of the ministry are founded on a Bible verse that states “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction…” James 1:27. This Bible verse has

its own roots digging deep into the pages of scripture showing G-d’s special encouragements and warnings pertaining to the manner in which we treat fatherless and widows. One might think that more Christian ministries around the world would be called “Fatherless and Widows” than any other name because that is the very definition of “pure religion”, with the inclusion of the rest of that verse “…to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” We are aware that there are some widows organizations and orphanages around the country/world, but until the creation of this organization, the founder had never seen one titled “Fatherless and Widows”. All through the Bible, fatherless and widows are found together. There are some stories of widows that seem set apart, but many areas of instruction to treat them both well are found together. This name and ministry remained on the founders’ heart for over a decade until the harvest of 2012, while standing on the Mountain of Blessing in Israel, he felt a release to get this ministry started and did so. The organization is currently incorporated and is in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) non-profit status. For people wanting to donate to the Fatherless and Widows organization, they may receive tax credit by donating to the 501 (c) (3) organization titled Disability Connection and writing “For Fatherless and Widows” on the check or requesting that option if donating goods, cash or by credit card. The organization’s mission is to serve widows, and also children who do not have an active father figure in their lives. The founder prefers the word fatherless, not only because that is the name used in Bible, but because the use of the name “orphan’s” does not include the vast majority of children without a father or close father figure in their lives. The mission of the ministry is to listen to the needs of the fatherless and widows in our community and respond with practical help that comes from a place in the heart. Services may be provided on the basis of need and may be adapted to the needs of the individual. Services for the fatherless may include but are not limited to mentoring, field trips such as career and agricultural tours, educational classes, special events and activities. In addition to educational activities, widows’ services may include anything from a simple phone call or visit on a regular basis to more specific needs like fixing a toilet or helping with an electrical problem. We aspire to have a long list of widows to call prior to an incoming hurricane to help to ensure that their needs are taken care of, i.e., transportation out of town, a place to stay, yard clean up, windows taped/covered, etc.. Following up after hurricanes is also planned for those who may need yard clean up or other necessities. Training people in nursing assistant services with the aim of having approved nursing home visits is planned. We know that the needs of the fatherless are tremendous, and we hope to move forward slowly with guidance. We expect that the doors will continue to open in the process of responding to needs and with volunteers who have creative ideas in how to serve in a fun, positive, and rewarding way. It is not our intention to promote or deny today’s situation of tithing. However, it is a fact that the Bible historically mandated a special tithe to be set aside for fatherless and widows. The Fatherless and Widows organization is thankful to the following organizations for having received positive advice, helpful interventions, beneficial partnerships, &/or generous donations from/with Disability Connection; Youth for Christ, Hope Haven, The Salvation Army, The Humane Society, Gospel Singers of America, Keesler Federal Credit Union, Tuesday Mornings, www.1213Jewelry.com, Kona Ice and many more. Kona Ice [(228) 297-7669] and 1213 Jewelry [(228) 493-3939] have both decided to continually donate portions of their sales to Fatherless and Widows, Inc.. 1213 Jewelry is a home-based business of hand-made jewelry. FOOD BASKETS...Thank you to the wonderful unspoken lady and her church for bringing us food for distribution. We line the baskets and put extra's in to hopefully bring a smile and let widows know that they matter and someone cares. Thank you, Brittany, for your help in unloading and in getting these food baskets filled. Loading up the Buick again as in many times before to make deliveries of baskets to appreciative widows. Thank you to all who support our efforts at https://www.facebook.com/fatherlessandwidows.

The video is not playing for some reason. Came across this old clip. Massage lessons for a young blind man to help support his wife and children. We helped him transfer from a dirt floor hut into a brick home in Kenya. We thank The Lord for any ability, learning, talent or skills He has allowed any of us to have. May we serve Him with humility and love for one another.

THANK YOU TO DIANA SARKINE for all of the hard work, effort, love and expense she has poured into making beautiful hand-made birthday cards for widows. Diana has done this for the ministry for years with no recognition and no requests for recognition. She insists on buying the materials, stamps and pre-prints names and addresses on the envelopes. We are Soooo thankful for her love to our Heavenly Father and for all of the time and effort in doing her part to serve. Well done, Diana; good and faithful servant. May The Lord bless you all according to His will. Again, Diana never asked for any recognition, so I'm asking all who see this to say a small prayer of blessing for Diana.

BEAUTIFUL BELT hand-made by a widow in Kenya.
Size 36.5"- 42.5".
Please share your auction or other ideas.
She gave it expecting nothing in return. I told her that was not my size, but she said to pass it on because she wanted to give me something and that's what she had.

How can we promote this belt to get her as much money as possible?

Thank you.

RSVP: NEW BIBLE STUDY!

I was asked to start a new Bible Study at my house about a month ago. We were planning on doing that. The evil one seemed to work overtime in stopping that. It seems that almost everything that came from that incident was of evil. I was literally assaulted by a female and I responded with what I learned from 90 hours of certified training in fighting evil (demonic presence).

Two widows visited recently. One was a widow who was in 4th Stage bone cancer and I called a prayer meeting for her in a loft I had recently built to be a prayer room. NO ONE showed up except for a guy on a bike who knew nothing of the meeting and later from my 1st board member. When this widow went back to the doctor about a week or 2 later, she was cancer free. In all fairness, another woman had been working with her on diet.

From our request, based on location, this widow was recently helping a blind widow to prepare for a move to N.C.. We all visited for about 3 hours talking about The Bible. They were so excited after visiting that they asked if I would start a Bible study.

Therefore, being asked twice within a month to begin a Bible study at my house, I better obey. Those who have followed the devil from the 1st evil stopping will receive their own reward. May the widow in that situation be protected and not manipulated/taken advantage of.

In any instance, we plan to have the 1st widow's Bible Study at my house this coming Thursday at 6pm. The subject will be "Made in the Image of God". What does that mean? We will look at the Hebrew word for Image and go from there. I do know what the 2nd meeting subject is planned to be, and extremely needed, but that is planned to be revealed at our meeting. I might live-stream it "Whats App" or "Facebook". Comments & suggestions are welcome.

The 1st meeting is planned to be "Presentation then open discussion". The 2nd meeting is planned to be almost all open discussion. Information from the 2nd meeting is life changing and can save family ties, marriages, work relations and friendships. Bringing food or drink is optional and appreciated. I do ask that anything brought is according to Bible dietary food laws, regardless of anyone's current understanding. Thank you. RSVP required.

If anyone is traveling from out of town, I do have some extra space for you to stay for free with approval. Gulfport, MS is the nearest airport (GPT). If anyone were to fly in, we would make sure you have transportation/pick up.

Who would like to take care of a older male cat? Or optionally drive it from MS to TX where the widow is who owned it (she just moved). It was unexpectedly left behind, but neighbors have been feeding it, etc.. Thank you.

We started buying cows for needy families in Kenya in 2021. It has been a successful operation. Every needy family who received a cow signed an agreement to mate it and give any female offspring to other needy families who had to sign the same agreement, so it is a never ending agreement. I named it the "River of Milk Project" aka "The 10,000 Cows Project". Thank you for prayers for that project. If anyone has a heart for that and wants to be a part of a committee expanding it, please let me know.

Have you herd? Things go udderly awry in the middle of July each year during Cow Appreciation Day. Dress like a cow and eat chicken!
