Holy Spirit Fellowship

Holy Spirit Fellowship An "open and affirming" Christian community committed to being "One in the Spirit." Those new to the faith as well as mature believers are welcome.

Holy Spirit Fellowship is a non-denominational church established in May of 1993, whose members believe in Christ and offer their support of God's work through the fellowship. One of the founding tenets of HSF is the understanding that we all have a right to be who we are along with an acceptance of one another's beliefs and understandings of God. We are a welcoming community of faith where person

al safety and individual beliefs are supported and nurtured. We encourage members' involvement in other churches and religious organizations as well. We believe that we are all in the process of becoming what God intends for us to be, and that in that process, we are at different stages. Therefore, individual differences and diversity are celebrated rather than feared. We strive to avoid legalism and rigid adherence to doctrine, believing rather in a gracious God who is more concerned with our inner state than our public declarations. (written by Jerry Gideon, Trustee,
during our first year of ministry)

Holy Spirit Church now exists only in God and the hearts of those who attended. Thank You, Lord, for Duane Moret and the gift of HSF.

Friends in or near Orange County (and those willing to make the drive), if you're looking for a Christmas Eve service that is both traditional and also filled with the creative arts, please join sister MCC churches, Christ Chapel and Resurrection Beach, for our second annual joint Christmas Eve service. The message will be an original drama. This year RBMCC will host the service, followed by one of their legendary pot lucks. We hope that, however you spend the evening, it is filled with all the hope, peace, love, and joy that Christmas should bring.

Friends in or near the Santa Ana area (or those willing to make the journey), Christ Chapel Metropolitan Community Church will be focusing on Transgender Day of Remembrance at our 10:00 am worship service this Sunday, November 20th. This is a first for our faith community and we are expectantly looking forward to what the Holy Spirit will say to us through word, song, music, video presentations and discussion. May God bless the Transgender Community around the world on this very special day.

Friends in or near the Santa Ana area (or those willing to make the journey), Christ Chapel Metropolitan Community Church will be celebrating our annual Blessing of the Pets and Animals at our 10:00 am worship service this Sunday, October 16 (a little late this year due to my recent vacation). You are welcome to bring your pets (they must be controlled), you may bring a picture, a stuffed animal, one of their toys, or even stand in proxy for them. We have had many meaningful experiences with this service in the past and look forward to a blessed event this weekend. Love and Peace!

We Need a Little Christmas NOW!

It's time for
Christ Chapel Metropolitan Community Church Santa Ana's
annual "Christmas in July" celebration!

The tradition of "Christmas in July" wasn't always rooted in commercialism, and we're taking it back!

We'll be decorating and sprucing up the church, inside and out, on Saturday, July 2nd. Refreshments will be available and all help is appreciated.

All five Sunday services will feature Christmas music and
Christmas related messages.

Please join us at our annual "Christmas Party" following the service on July 17th. We will be having a holiday-themed pot luck and, for those who so desire, you are welcome to bring a gift for the church to place under the tree.
If you would like suggestions as to what to bring to the pot-luck, please speak to Kathy Peviani or Carol Welch.
If you would like suggestions as to what gifts the church might need, please speak to Shawn Eisner, Jan Paul, or Pastor Eric.
You need not bring food or a gift to attend.
All are welcome and we encourage you to invite friends.

If anyone would like to share a gift of special music during the month or participate in any way, please contact Pastor Eric.

We hope that you'll join us for one, some, or all of these very special services.

Merry Christmas . . . in July!

From Sheila:
Mom has bleeding on the brain from her fall a month ago when she got the black eyes. The aspirin she's taking post heart surgery has caused the bleeding to increase which is why she has weakness and confusion. Tomorrow morning at 7 AM (Los Alamitos hospital) she will have surgery to allow the blood to drain out. This should resolve the issue. She asks for your prayers.

LaVerne Shouse (widowed by both Pat Baylis and Rev Linda McQuowan) has recently had triple bypass surgery. She seemed to be recovering well and was moved to Alamitos West on Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos to get regain enough strength to return home. I have been in contact with her daughter, Sheila, and this is her latest text:

LaVerne needs prayer. She has been getting weaker instead of stronger. I have asked for a care plan meeting with her doctors & therapists to address this. Pray that her best interest will be served. Michael and I need physical and emotional strength and the wisdom to make good decisions.

This from Bonnie Z one hour ago:
They have taken LaVerne to EMERGENCY 1 hr ago for MRI to see if she had a mini stroke due to her declining state.

Here's the latest from CJ (Connie) Barker:
Praise report- was getting ready to call you! Much to everyones shock she actually got some brain function back today! How I don't know- and it's unclear how much. But she's responding to simple verbal commands -open your eyes, wiggle your toes, nod your head, etc.
Last night they point blank told me: this wouldn't happen. Her pupils were fixed and dialated- they sent the chaplain to tell me- "we can keep her body alive a few days, but she isn't going to recover. Too much brain damage."
This is far from "recovery" of course, but at least for the time being I'm no longer being asked if I want to turn the machines off!

Need some urgent prayer. CJ Barker and her spouse, Jan, have visited with us at HSF a couple of times. They live up around Berkeley but come down when there are special events going on. CJ's a dynamic woman of God. When she's in town she usually worships with Glory Tab. Jan hasn't been well for a while and now is having heart problems. There is also a possibility through all of this that she is brain dead. The medical staff is continuing in the prognosis and treatments for the next couple of days. CJ is beside herself. Please keep them in earnest prayer

I know this may be hard for some of you, but maybe it will help bring closure. Pastor Duane sent it to me.
