We are a bilingual congregation. Antoine Holloway (Tucson, AZ) will be presenting the lessons in English and Gilberto Guerrero (NJ) in Spanish. Services will begin in the main auditorium, and at the proper time those who desire to hear the sermon in Spanish will be dismissed to the second auditorium.

Life is stressful. Before you know it, we are losing patience and snapping at everyone. It’s easy to become unkind. Yet, we don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives. Striving to be kind will cause us to slow down and give others grace. This is important to consider, because people are under so much stress that half of the time they don’t even realize how unkind they’re being. However, we can be a light to those around us with the simple lesson of kindness.

La vida es estresante. Antes de que nos damos cuenta, estamos perdiendo la paciencia y groseros con todos. Es fácil volverse cruel. Sin embargo, no sabemos qué está pasando en la vida de las personas. Tratar de ser amable nos hará ralentizar y dar gracia a los demás. We are far too independent. When we try to solve all of life’s problems on our own, we forfeit peace and joy as we fail to let God be God. We try to figure out things we have no business even touching with our minds. Nothing is too hard or too difficult for God, but many things are too hard for us. With the help and leading of the Holy Spirit, we can grow to the place where we rest in the truth that we know the One Who knows all the answers, even when we don’t, and we can trust Him!
Somos demasiado independientes. Cuando intentamos resolver todos los problemas de la vida por nosotros mismos, perdemos la paz y la alegría al no permitir que Dios sea Dios. Tratamos de solucionar cosas que no tenemos ni siquiera pensar con nuestras mentes. Nada es demasiado grande o demasiado difícil para Dios, pero muchas cosas son demasiado difíciles para nosotros. Con la ayuda y la guía del Espíritu Santo, podemos crecer en el lugar donde descansamos en la verdad de que conocemos a Aquel que conoce todas las respuestas, incluso cuando no lo hacemos, ¡y podemos confiar en Él!

Sometimes I marvel at how long we can struggle in a situation before we think to talk to God about it. We complain about our problems; we grumble; we murmur; we tell our friends; and we talk about how we wish God would do something about it.
We struggle with situations in our minds and in our emotions, while we often fail to take advantage of the simplest solution there is: prayer. But worse than that, we then make perhaps the most ridiculous statement known to man: “Well, I guess all I can do is pray.”
I am sure you have heard that before, and maybe you have even said it. We are all guilty of treating prayer as a last-ditch effort and saying things like, “Well, nothing else is working, so maybe we should pray.”
Do you know what that tells me? It tells me that we really do not believe in the power of prayer as we should. We carry burdens we do not need to bear—and life is much harder than it has to be—because we do not realize how powerful prayer is.
If we did, we would talk to God and listen to what He says about everything, not as a last resort, but as a first response.
A veces me maravillo de cuánto tiempo podemos luchar en una situación antes de pensar hablar con Dios al respecto. Nos quejamos de nuestros problemas; nos quejamos; murmuramos; lo decimos a nuestros amigos; y hablamos de cómo deseamos que Dios haga algo al respecto.
Luchamos con situaciones en nuestra mente y en nuestras emociones, mientras que a menudo no aprovechamos la solución más simple que existe: la oración. Pero peor que eso, quizás hacemos la declaración más ridícula: "Bueno, supongo que todo lo que puedo hacer es orar".
Estoy seguro de que has escuchado eso antes, y tal vez incluso lo hayas dicho. Todos somos culpables de tratar la oración como un último esfuerzo y decir cosas como: "Bueno, nada más está funcionando, así que tal vez deberíamos orar".

So often we aim to please everyone. We focus our lives on what we can do to please others, make others happy, or be liked by everyone. Much of our time and energy is spent on this, yet we forget to please the one who matters most. Asking ourselves, “Is God pleased with this action, word, etc.” is so vital to our understanding of who God is. Who are we aiming to please?
Muy a menudo nuestro objetivo es complacer a todos. Enfocamos nuestras vidas en lo que podemos hacer para complacer a los demás, hacer felices a los demás o que todos nos quieran. Gran parte de nuestro tiempo y energía se gasta en esto, sin embargo, nos olvidamos de complacer a quien más importa. Prayer for your enemies is one of the deepest forms of love, because it means that you have to really want that something good happen to them.
You might do nice things for your enemy without any genuine desire that things go well with them. But prayer for them is in the presence of God who knows your heart, and prayer is interceding with God on their behalf. This is exactly what Jesus did as he hung on the cross.

The phrase "fear not" is found over 300 times in the Bible. There’s one "fear not" for almost every day of the year. Do you really want to obey the scriptures and "fear not"?When God tells you He will be with you, that means no matter what the circumstances are like, everything will work out all right because God will never fail you or forsake you.
La frase "no temas" se encuentra más de 300 veces en la Biblia. Hay un “no temas" para casi todos los días del año. ¿Realmente quieres obedecer las Escrituras y "no temer"? We are all born for a purpose. We are not here by accident, but to fulfill a God’s purpose for our lives. We may have many plans for our lives, but as this verse says, “the counsel of the Lord will stand." Sometimes God can change the direction we are going in. Sometimes it can be a radical change, or sometimes just a slight adjustment. We need to ask God to show us His purpose for our lives - what He wants us to do. He will show us and help us to take steps towards fulfilling it.
Todos nacemos con un propósito. No estamos aquí por accidente, sino para cumplir el propósito de Dios para nuestras vidas. Es posible que tengamos muchos planes para nuestras vidas, pero como dice este versículo, "el consejo del Señor permanecera”. Algunas veces Dios puede cambiar la dirección en la que estamos entrando. To sanctify is to set apart for the sole use of God. It means to be holy. Paul added that the One who called them is faithful and will do it. Paul mentioned in the letter to the Philippians that he had not yet attained perfection. But this is what God is faithfully doing in our lives. It is God who is at work sanctifying you.
Santificar es apartar para el uso exclusivo de Dios. Significa ser santo. Pablo agregó que El que los llamó es fiel y lo hará. Pablo mencionó en la carta a los filipenses que aún no había alcanzado la perfección. Pero esto es lo que Dios está haciendo fielmente en nuestras vidas. Es Dios quien trabaja santificándote.
