Join us, tonight, to hear the Laudamus Choir from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis
March 17, 2026, at 7:00pm

Laudamus, the premier choir of seminarians from Concordia
Seminary, St. Louis, will perform at several locations throughout Southern California during its 2026 tour scheduled for March 14–19.

The tour theme, “Lamb of God, Who Takes Away the Sin of the World,” is drawn from the Gospel of John and reflects the Lenten season. Each performance will include a variety of musical selections centered on Christ’s sacrificial love and the promise of salvation.

“Our program this year focuses on Christ as the Lamb of God. God the Father sent His Son, Jesus, to be the perfect sacrifice in our place,” said Dr. Samuel Eatherton, assistant professor of Practical Theology, kantor, the Kreft Professor for Music Arts and director of Laudamus. “John the Baptist saw Jesus one day and exclaimed to those around him, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!’ We pray God will help us reflect that same enthusiasm as we sing of all that Christ has done in winning salvation for us, so that we might live as His children.

Laudamus performances are free and open to the public. Freewill offerings will be collected to support music arts programs at the Seminary.

Please join us at Bethany Lutheran Church, Long Beach Campus, TONIGHT, on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:00pm for a performance by the Concordia University A Ca****la Choir under the direction of Dr. Kurt E. von Kampen!

Concordia University Nebraska’s University A Ca****la Choir will be traveling west on their spring Pacific Southwest tour, singing concerts, performing assemblies, and participating in worship in Cheyenne, Wyo., Sandy, Utah, Fair Oaks, Calif., Livermore, Calif., Lodi, Calif., Long Beach, Calif., Las Vegas, Nev., Grand Junction, Fort Collins, Colo., and Littleton, Colo. The choir will sing a variety of choral works including compositions by J.S. Bach, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, Gerald Finzi, David von Kampen, Moses Hogan, Norman Luboff, and others.

Concordia University’s A Ca****la Choir has been performing concerts and joining congregations in worship for over 87 years. One of the United States’ oldest touring Lutheran collegiate choirs, the University A Ca****la Choir has performed throughout the U.S., and internationally in Greece, Italy, France, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, India, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Austria, Spain, Mexico, South Africa, and Australia. In May of 2026, the choir will make its first concert tour to Ireland.

The 72-voice choir is chosen by audition and is comprised of majors from most academic disciplines, representing many states and some foreign countries. Over 180 students audition each fall for the internationally renowned concert choir.

The choir has been invited to perform for NMEA and ACDA conferences, and international competitions. They received the Gold Medal for performance at the 12th Australian International Music Festival in Sydney and earned a spot in the winner’s circle at the 42nd International Choral Competition in Spittal, Austria.

In addition, our very own Bethany Choir will be opening for the A Ca****la Choir and will be collaborating with them on a few choral selections. You will NOT want to miss this! We look forward to seeing you here! We'll save you a seat!

Our staff is already hard at work behind the scenes getting everything ready for an incredible week of Rainforest Falls VBS: Exploring the Nature of God! From planning lessons and activities to dreaming up jungle-sized fun, the excitement is building. 🐒🌴

We can’t wait for kids to explore, learn, sing, and discover more about who God is and how much He loves them!

Our ministries have been growing in numbers, ages, and the many ways we gather! From Movie Nights and Lunch Bible Studies to Confirmation, Stepping Stones, First Bible classes, Communion Camp, Lock-ins, and more; the Youth Room has truly become a central hub of faith and fellowship.

Over the years, our furniture has served us well, but it's beginning to show its wear. This Giving Tuesday, we're inviting you to partner with us in refreshing the space! Your donation will help us purchase new furniture that is sturdy, functional, and welcoming; a space where our youth can continue to grow in faith and community for years to come.
