This excruciating form of public ex*****on was bloody, violent and extremely repulsive. Before His crucifixion, Jesus was repeatedly mocked, spat upon and flogged. Soldiers stripped Him, passersby hurled insults at Him, religious leaders taunted Him, even two robbers who were being crucified beside Him heaped insults on Jesus. The sins of this world called for an agonizing scene proving sins must be extremely heinous in God’s Holy sight to require such a sacrifice.

Jesus certainly had the power to destroy those who mocked Him. He could have come down off the cross at any point to save Himself. But He didn't. Why? Because Jesus’ fundamental nature is LOVE. Because He came to willingly give His life as a ransom for sinners. He paid the price for our release. It was a holy exchange, Jesus’ sinless life for your life and mine. He died for you. He endured the agony of the cross. He refused to save Himself so He could save you. Look upon the cost paid for you, FEEL it. And then, WORSHIP. That is the only cost you’ll pay, because His love has gone so very far on your behalf.

Happy Star Wars Day! The Young Adults Ministry hosted an all-church festival of games, prizes, food, and costumes in honor of May the 4th at Cornerstone Church of Long Beach. Thank you to all who attended and invited family and friends for a fun-filled evening!

As Ryan mentioned in service a few weeks prior, the Body of Christ is a family, not possible without the people and the love they extend to each other. We send out our love and prayers to the Hamptons as they journey back to Idaho to begin a new chapter as a family. Celebrate the joy that is found in Easter at Cornerstone!

Good Friday Services will be at 12 pm and 7 pm on March 30th. Childcare will be available for babies-5th grade.

Easter Services will start on Saturday, March 31st at 6pm, and will also be on Sunday, April 1st at 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm and 6 pm. Childcare will be available for babies-preschool.
