How do we rejoice when the world is hurting, life feels uncertain, and peace seems out of reach?

In Philippians 4:1–9, Paul offers a message of hope to a struggling community. Rev. Melinda reminds us that rejoicing doesn't mean ignoring suffering or pretending everything is fine. Through prayer, community, and the practice of letting go, we discover a peace that can sustain us even in life's most difficult seasons.

Joy doesn't require a perfect life. It invites us to live fully in the midst of an imperfect one.

Camp has a way of changing us. We notice creation, slow down, and rediscover what really matters. But what if bringing camp home isn't about recreating the experience? In Philippians 3, Paul discovers that following Christ changes the way we see ourselves, our neighbors, and the world around us. Maybe the most important thing we can bring home is a new way of paying attention.

In a world where we're speaking fewer words, spending more time alone, and finding it harder to build genuine community, Paul's letter to the Philippians offers an unexpected invitation. Rather than giving the church another rule to follow, Paul reminds them of an early Christian hymn about Jesus - a song that shaped the way they understood humility, identity, and life together.

This message explores the difference between giving ourselves in love and losing ourselves in the process. Christ's example isn't about becoming less. It's about discovering the freedom to love that comes from knowing we already belong to God.

Who gets to decide who is good, who is wicked, who is faithful, and who falls short?

Paul wrote to a church where people disagreed about faith and practice, sometimes strongly. His question to them was pretty direct: “Why do you pass judgment on your brother or sister?” And then he reminded them of something we still need to hear: we belong to God.

This morning, we’ll think about the labels we give each other and how quickly those labels can become the whole story. Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked help us see what happens when “Good” and “Wicked” stop being quite so easy to tell apart.

Maybe the closer we get to one another, the harder those labels are to hold onto.

We see fragments. God sees the whole person.
