The PC(USA) and the LGBTQIA+ Equity Advocacy Committee wish you a happy Pride month! To kick it off, we’re sharing an excerpt from the 223rd General Assembly (2018) item, “On Celebrating the Gifts of People of Diverse Sexual Orientations and Gender Identities in the Life of the Church."

The General Assembly established the Advocacy Committee for LGBTQIA+ Equity, which focuses on promoting and ensuring equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Advocacy committees within the denomination serve as a mechanism for accountability and prophetic witness. Together with ministry areas such as Women and Gender Justice, the advocacy committee seeks to address and rectify injustices faced by LGBTQIA+ groups and other groups historically marginalized and silenced due to oppressive power structures perpetuated by human sinfulness.

Hope City Church Gulf Coast meets in our building and they are having a sale this coming Saturday, May 16th to raise funds to send their kids to Summer Camp this year. It will be inside the rear of the main building from 7A-3P. There is easy access through the door from the covered pavilion on the Burke Street side of the building.
