Today we commemorate the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus.

We remember the day Jesus willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for us.

✝️ Maundy Thursday ✝️

Maundy Thursday is the Thursday before GOOD FRIDAY, is the day when Jesus celebrated his final Passover with His disciples.

Most notably, that Passover meal was when Jesus washed the feet of His disciples in an extraordinary display of humility.

He then commanded them to do the same for each other.

✝️ Anointing of Jesus ✝️

The anointing of Jesus in Bethany, described in John 12:1-8, is a significant event where a woman, identified as Mary of Bethany, generously anoints Jesus’ feet with expensive perfume during a meal according to John 12. This act is viewed as a foreshadowing of Jesus’ impending death and burial, as well as an expression of her deep love and devotion for him.

Let us honor the life of Jesus by serving others with humility, just like Mary.

✝️Holy Tuesday✝️

Do We Know What Jesus Preached on Holy Tuesday?

In Jerusalem, Jesus preached about faith. He used the barren fig tree as an example. His disciples saw what he did to the fig tree and marveled. In Matthew 21:21-22, Jesus said unto them, “Verily I say unto you, If you have faith, and doubt not, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say unto this mountain, Be throw removed, and be throw cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer believing, you shall receive.”

This day also commemorates Jesus’ teaching and preaching at the Mount of Olives, including the Olivet Discourse, a prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem and the end of the age. Additionally, Judas Iscariot agreed to betray Jesus with the Sanhedrin on this day.

Jesus cleanses the Temple

Holy Monday is the second day of Holy Week, right after Palm Sunday. It is the second day that Jesus was in Jerusalem.

Jesus entered the temple courts and overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches. He stated that the temple should be a house of prayer. 🕊️ 🪙
