“Power of the Holy Spirit”

We are going to study the “Acts of the Apostles” which is about the New Testament Church for the next few weeks. We began in Acts with the Ascension of Jesus. We continued with the Day of Pentecost (part 1 & 2) when the gift of the promised Holy Spirit was given first to the one hundred and twenty followers when the power came upon them. Peter stood up and boldly preached a sermon to a crowd of devout Jews and the Holy Spirit convicted their hearts and they were saved, filled, and baptized being added to the church that day, 3000 souls. Now we will pick up at verse 2:41 and continue to chapter 3:10.
We can learn a lot of lessons from the newly birthed, New Testament Church of Believers.
Let’s go to the text:

Acts 2:41-47, 3:1-10
41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe[a] came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

The Lame Beggar Healed
3 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.[a] 2 And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. 3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. 4 And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” 5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” 7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. 8 And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD. THANKS BE TO GOD.

The first expression I would think is, “Wow how amazing is our God!” the second thing is where are we going to put 3000 new church members and how are we going to disciple them? Would our church be ready for an influx of that many new members? What can we do to prepare for when that does happen? The first thing we learn from this passage about the Church is: Devotion
 They were devoted to the Apostles teaching, which is for us the Word of God. Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus tells us, that all authority in heaven and on earth is given to Him.
 Then He says, Go out and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father; the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teaching them the things that I have commanded you.
 They were devoted to fellowship (Koinonia), which means to hold or share something in common. Fellowship is the gathering of believers to edify one another spiritually by speaking of the work of Jesus in our lives, by the Spirit in and through us. Commitment to one another showed their commitment to following the teachings of Jesus.
 Devoted to the Breaking of Bread.
The celebration of the Last Supper was done in their homes, remembering the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. The establishment of the New Covenant (1 Corinthians 11:23-24).
 Devoted to the Prayers.
Through the guidance of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the Believers understood how important and powerful being faithful in praying would be in their daily lives. All of the above points were practice daily in the lives of the new followers of Jesus. It was evident with the signs and wonders that followed that God was doing a new thing in their midst. The signs and wonders brought people to Jesus as the source of the redemptive power of the Holy Spirit, and people were added to the church daily.

Not only did the church grow but also through the loving actions and dedication of the believers, being of one heart and one soul built spiritual unity with each other. Loving one another just as Jesus had commanded in John 13:34-35.
The Apostles would teach the new believers sometimes in Solomon’s Porch where there was a large gathering place as they were going to the Temple to worship or to pray.

Peter and John went to the Temple and saw a beggar requesting alms, which are donations of money or food, etc. which had been laid at the Gate called Beautiful. Josephus the historian describes this Gate as being made of Corinthian Brass; seventy-five feet tall, large double doors, and more spectacular than the gates that were covered with silver and gold.
The beggar was laying in front of the Gate hoping to receive something from the generosity of people going into the Temple Gate. He had been lame since birth and was about forty years old. He looked at Peter and John seeing Peter looking at him intently, hoping to receive something good. I don’t imagine that he was expecting the gift that he received that day. Peter said, “Look at us!” So, the man looked at them. It was unusual for anyone to demand eye contact, so he gave them his attention. Then Peter proclaimed, “I don’t have silver or gold, but I will give you what I do have. In the Name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter offered the man his right hand and lifted him up. Instantly his feet and ankles became strong as he stood up, he started walking and then leaping for the first time in his life.
The new man did three things:
 Walking and leaping, he went in through the Gate that he had laid at for most of his life, finally seeing what was on the other side with Peter and John.
 He was walking for the first time and jumping around like a little child, filled with awe wonder and joy.
 He began praising God and worshipping Him. He knew that God had shown him mercy and love.
The people there recognized this poor man as the one who had begged for alms and he received much more than he could ever think or imagine by the powerful Name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene. They were amazed and awestruck!

“May the Lord bless you and
keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Go with the peace of Jesus into the world. Amen.

“Pentecost---Part Two”

Tomorrow is Memorial Day but today we will honor its deceased service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Originally, it was called “Decoration Day” but it was formalized by a “Memorial Day Order” issued by the Grand Army of the Republic Commander-in-Chief, John A. Logan in 1868. It is the last Monday of May each year.

The passage that we studied last week was the coming of the Holy Spirit as Jesus promised. This coming did not come in secret, it came in power and in full witness of many devout Jews along with the Disciples. Peter referred to the Old Testament prophet Joel when explaining what just happened in verses 16-18:
16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:
17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;

18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

These verses describes the “Church Age” which began with the coming of The Holy Spirit. Peter stood boldly and proclaimed the message of the “good news” or Gospel of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We will begin with Acts 2:22-39. Let’s go to the text:
Acts 2:22-39
English Standard Version
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23 this Jesus,[a] delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. 24 God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. 25 For David says concerning him,
“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26 therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
29 “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31 he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. 33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,
“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies your footstool.”’
36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD. THANKS BE TO GOD.

Last week we read that God got the attention of the crowds that had come to Jerusalem for the Feast of Passover, bringing their offerings to the Temple. This was the beginning of the establishment of the New Covenant that the Old Testament passages spoke of where the laws of God would be written in their hearts not only on tablets of stone. Awe and amazement were felt by the people who heard the wonders of God spoken in their own native languages. Some scoffers thought they were drunk; but those who heard the praises to God with a sincere heart, did not believe that, because there was no way that these Galileans knew these diverse dialects. God had their attention! The Holy Spirit filled and empowered Apostle Peter, raised his voice and commanded their attention also. He began explaining the infilling of the Holy Spirit as an Old Testament prophecy by Joel, but only part of this prophecy was fulfilled at this time. The rest of the prophecy will be fulfilled with the Tribulation which is “The Day of the Lord” which is in more detail in Joel.

God has indeed poured out His Spirit on all flesh to be indwelt by His Spirit to fulfill the meaning of the name of Immanuel “God with us!” This third part of the Trinity is seen in every book of the 66 Books in Canonized Scriptures. He always descended for a brief time or a special purpose and then ascended back to heaven. This is not the same experience! Now the Holy Spirit has come to remain with us, in us, and beside us. We are never alone even when at times we feel like we are living in the wildernesses of life. Jesus said before He went away that “He would not leave us as orphans and that He would never leave us or forsake us!” The Holy Spirit comes to live in us when we receive Jesus as Lord. This is the Promise we are given and we know that He who promised is faithful and true.

Peter not only explained about the Holy Spirit but also proclaimed the message that Jesus is the Messiah. He begins with “Men of Israel, hear these words” and then tells them what they already had heard and knew from the events that had happened earlier. Peter spoke boldly about the “Resurrection of Jesus” that not only were the disciples witnesses of this miraculous event, but that each one of the Jews were familiar with the Psalms of David.
David, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, wrote about the resurrection of the Messiah in Psalm 16:8-10. The prophet Isaiah wrote about the “Suffering Servant” in chapters 52 and 53, in which they were familiar with these prophecies as well. These were Old Testament scriptures about the Messiah. When Peter quoted Psalm 110:1 about the Messiah being seated at the Right Hand of God, Jesus had also quoted it in Luke 20:41-44 and in Mark 12:35-37.

The next words that Peter said with boldness and the confidence that came through the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ (Messiah), this Jesus Whom you crucified...!”
It wasn’t the words that Peter spoke that cut them to the heart, it was the conviction of the Holy Spirit, showing them the sin in their hearts. They were horrified at this truth that now suddenly became REAL to them. The scales were not only lifted from their eyes so that they could see the truth; but the knowledge of what they had done to their Messiah, God’s Son, was more than they could comprehend. They cried out, “what do we do?” Peter said the same message that John the Baptist preached; the same message that Jesus preached; and the same message the Holy Spirit gave them to preach, “REPENT” be baptized for the forgiveness of sin. Only this time Peter told them, “Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you also will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” He concluded his powerful sermon with the same promise that Jesus gave, “For the promise (gift of the Holy Spirit) is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself.”
This promise of the Holy Spirit is the same power that Jesus was filled with when He came out of the water after being baptized. He is the same power that was with Jesus during His ministry to the people while He went around preaching “the Kingdom of Heaven is here” and the same strength that kept Jesus on the Cross. The Cross where not only Jesus was nailed but also the “sins of mankind” so that we would be free from the wages of sin. It is this same power that raised Jesus from the dead. The Holy Spirit power is in you, living in you, instructing you on the right path, comforting you, assuring you of His love, walking beside you , strengthening you to walk through all the trials that life throws at you, encouraging you so that you know that you have been endued with power from on high to be His witnesses to the uttermost parts of the world. The promise is for us today as we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior, He (the Holy Spirit) is our downpayment of the promise of eternal life covered with the righteousness of Jesus, so that we can be called to be “the children of God” who have received the grace and mercy of God our Father. It is because of this that we can have a fellowship and relationship with God, Who is Holy and Just. Whose love is so great, that the entire Bible has been written as a love story to us, that He would not leave us wallowing in our sins, but provided a Savior, His Son, Jesus, the Messiah, the Christ or Anointed One, to be the one time sacrifice, for all time, for all people.

When Peter concluded his first sermon spoken with the power and authority of the now indwelling Holy Spirit, of the ones who heard and received his words, three thousand believed and were baptized in the Name of Jesus. Now the newly birthed “Ekklesia” or “Church” gained three thousand new followers believing that Jesus is the Messiah and the Savior that God sent into the world to give us hope and a purpose. That purpose is to be witnesses of the love, light, and sacrifice of Jesus to whoever He brings into our path and to the uttermost parts of the world. And that was just the beginning of what Jesus purposed for His Church.
Amen.

“May the Lord bless you and
keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Go with the peace of Jesus into the world. Amen.

“Pentecost---Part One”

Last week we studied about the Ascension of Jesus from the Mount of Olives. The disciples were told to go back to Jerusalem and stay there until the gift of the promised Holy Spirit was given them. They had no idea what to expect but traveling and ministering with Jesus for over three years, they learned to expect the unexpected. All they knew was, Jesus had promised them they would be baptized with the Holy Spirit and Fire. From that point forward they would be witnesses to the ends of the earth. We are going to take two weeks to cover the story of Pentecost and even then that is not long enough for an in depth study. Let’s go back to the book of Acts continuing with chapter 2.

ACTS 2:1-14

2 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[a] on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6 And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 7 And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11 both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” 12 And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” 13 But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”
14 But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.

THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD. THANKS BE TO GOD.

There were three important Feasts that all Jewish males were required to attend during the course of the year. Passover; the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost (which was fifty days after the Passover); and the Feast of Tabernacles were those that God required to be celebrated in Jerusalem.

The Feast brought in visitors from three continents with several different nationalities which had been scattered throughout the known world for this celebration. There were three early spring feasts; one early summer feast (beginning of the wheat harvest); and three fall feasts. The Feast of Passover was when Jesus offered Himself as the Passover Lamb; the Feast of First-fruits is the day that Jesus was raised from the dead. The Feast of Pentecost was celebrated for several reasons; the first was to commemorate the giving of the Law of Moses on Mount Sinai; the early harvest of the first of the wheat harvest; and the birth of the “Church—Ekklesia” with the coming of the Holy Spirit.

The Scripture tells us that, suddenly, out of nowhere came a tremendous sound like a mighty rushing wind but with no wind blowing. God wanted the people’s attention and He got it! People out of curiosity; out of awe and wonder started gathering together trying to find out where the noise was coming from.

At the same time where the one hundred twenty followers of Jesus had been together in one place, with one heart, waiting with anticipation, praying for the gift of the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised them. When the Holy Spirit comes on the followers and fills them with His power, there seemed to be flames of fire as a single flame over each head. This was not actually flames but a spiritual symbol that they were in the presence of God.
At once, they began to praise God in other languages that was not known to them about God’s marvelous works.

This is what the gathering crowd was hearing when they followed the sound. Their own languages and dialects were being spoken in praises to God about his marvelous works. The disciples were not speaking to the crowds in different languages; however, the crowds heard the praises of God spoken in the words that they understood from their own languages. This was astonishing to these men who had journeyed to Jerusalem from everywhere; not yet understanding what the purpose of these events or the experience was.

Jesus said to His disciples as He was preparing to go the way of the cross in John 14:15-17:
15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper,[a] to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be[b] in you.

Jesus was telling them the reason that the Holy Spirit would come and that when He comes He would indwell them as well as walk beside them.

The purpose is recorded in Acts 1:8:
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

The power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus gives in John 16:7-11:
7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
These are some of the reasons that when the day of Pentecost was fully come the beginning of a new age started: at the Last Supper, Jesus established the New Covenant which was made between God and His creation, that whoever called on the name of the Lord, would be saved. It was the precious Blood of Jesus that was offered as the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world, that begins a new era. The dispensation of Grace and the beginning of the Church Age. Pentecost was fifty days after Jesus’ resurrection the same feast that symbolized the “Giving of the Law” by Moses is the same feast that is now symbolized as the “Giving of Grace and the Holy Spirit” to be with us always. The Spirit of Truth; the Paraclete; the Comforter; the One Who leads, guides, empowers, emboldens, and strengthens us has fully come. This concludes part one of the sermon on Pentecost.

“May the Lord bless you and
keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Go with the peace of Jesus into the world. Amen.

“The Ascension”
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
Happy Mother’s Day! This is a day to honor all mothers and women of faith that are placed in the paths of children for whatever reason to bring the nurturing and love that everyone needs in their lives. So, thank you to everyone of these women who have stepped into the role of guidance and nurturing to those who God has placed in our paths.

During the past forty days we have been studying about several of Jesus’ s resurrection appearances. Today we will be reading passages concerning Jesus’s Ascension to heaven. The Gospel of Luke closes with the passage of Scriptures 24:45-53:
45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance for[a] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

50 And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. 51 While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.
Luke continues the third Gospel with The Book of Acts 1:3-11 which will be our focus today. Let’s go to the text:

Acts 1:3-11
3 He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
4 And while staying[a] with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with[b] the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
The Ascension
6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD. THANKS BE TO GOD.
We know of at least ten resurrection appearances of Jesus that are written in the Scriptures. However, there may have been several more that we do not know about, just as there are accounts in Mark 16:19; Luke 24:50-51; Acts 1:9-11 specifically about His Ascension. So the Ascension is recorded happening forty days after Jesus’ resurrection. So for forty days Jesus appeared to the disciples giving them instruction and their mission to continue. The important thing that Jesus emphasized, was they were not to leave Jerusalem, until the promised gift of the Holy Spirit was given to them by the Father.
This appearance would be the last time that Jesus would appear to His disciples after His resurrection which had been forty days earlier. The disciples were unaware that this would be the last appearance until they saw Him physically raised into the air until He disappeared in the clouds. Jesus came to earth and was wrapped in swaddling clothes; He returned to heaven wrapped in the Shekinah glory of God into the clouds. When the disciples saw this many questions were going through their minds; most of all could have been, “is He really gone?” they were intently gazing into the sky where He had disappeared when suddenly there were two men dressed in white clothes standing with them. They addressed the disciples as “men of Galilee” acknowledging they knew who they were, even though they were standing on the Mount of Olives not far from Jerusalem. The angels were talking to Jesus’ followers helping them to understand that Jesus was gone but He would also return. “Why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.” The Gospel of Matthew records Jesus saying to the Sanhedrin when He was put on trial, “…But, I tell you in the future, you will see Me seated at the Right Hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
The prophet Zechariah also wrote in the 14th chapter about Jesus’ return (4) “On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from the east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.” Also, Jesus will return with the armies of heaven and all the saints in clouds of glory and every eye shall see Him.

The disciples had asked Jesus when the Kingdom of Israel would be restored and Jesus had answered them, “it is not for you to know. But, we went on to tell them that someday soon they would receive the gift from the Father. Then they would be witnesses, the Greek word is “martys—(martuus)” which is another word for martyr. Once the angels disappeared, the disciples were filled with awe and joy spending their time continually at the Temple praising God. They had experienced the Ascension of Jesus in such a miraculous way, they had no doubt of what exactly they were to do. We also are filled with awe and wonder of not only what Jesus has done for us, but we are filled with joy because of our great salvation bought for us with Jesus’ precious blood on the cross.
Someday, soon He will blow the trumpet and the dead in Christ will rise first and then we who are alive and remain, will be caught up with them to meet Jesus in the air and to forever be with Him from that point on. Then when Jesus returns to the Mount of Olives in the clouds of glory with the armies of heaven and all the saints (which is us) we will be with Him.
Amen.

“May the Lord bless you and
keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Go with the peace of Jesus into the world. Amen.
