Join us tonight for the Easter Vigil. Tonight, we celebrate the victory that our Lord has over sin, death, and devil through the harrowing of hell. This is the story of salvation He wrote for all the faithful, culminating in the gifts of salvation - remembrance of baptism and the celebration of the Lord's Supper.

At this service, we celebrate five confirmands, and 13 new adult members who join with their families. Join us tonight and for the reception afterwards to welcome them to Zion!

Tonight starts the Triduum - starting with Maundy Thursday and culminates in Easter Vigil on Saturday. Services tonight, Friday, and Saturday all start at 7:00 PM.

The Word "Maundy" comes from the Latin word 'Mandatum', recognizing the new command Jesus gave to His disciples before His crucifixion - "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:34-35)"

His love for His church is demonstrated in the institution of the Lord's Supper - "Take, eat. This is my Body. Take, drink, this cup is the new covenant in my blood." Through the blood of Christ applied to us in this meal, Christians are strengthened in faith to our heavenly Father, and strengthened in love towards each other. Praise be to God for such a wonderful gift.

Enjoy a few snippets of Zion’s Palm Sunday Service!

As we go into Holy Week, the conclusion of the sermon puts into perspective the true mission and work of Jesus:

“The King came not to take a throne, but a cross. He knew the cost. It would cost Him His life. But He comes anyway – because that’s the kind of King He is. He’s not the King who rules by force, but by love. He’s not the King who takes, He’s the King who serves. He’s not the King who retreats in battle, He puts Himself out on the front lines to lay down His life for you. And before this week is over, you’ll see exactly what this King gives.”
