The blessing of the Lord
The singular blessing of the Lord is the source, sustainer, and sign of the prosperity of God’s servant.
“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” — Proverbs 10:22 (KJV)
Beloved, prosperity is often misunderstood. The world defines it as abundance of possessions, but the Word defines it as the result of the blessing of the LORD resting upon His servant.
David declared:
“Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” — Psalm 35:27 (KJV)
“The blessing of the LORD… maketh rich…” — Proverbs 10:22 (KJV)
Hebrew Insight:
• Blessing (בְּרָכָה – Berakah): divine favor, empowerment, supernatural enablement
• Rich (עָשַׁר – Ashar): to accumulate, to become wealthy in substance, influence, and completeness
Explanation:
Prosperity is not produced by human effort alone. It is the result of divine empowerment.
Transitional Phrase:
Now that we understand the source, let us examine the condition…
Punchline:
You don’t chase prosperity—you walk in the blessing.
The question before us is not if God desires prosperity, but how that prosperity comes and who it rests upon.
