"We can open ourselves to the Holy Spirit through the church’s means of grace. When we worship God, receive the sacraments, pray, fast, and read the Scriptures, God works in our hearts. But here’s the catch: engaging in these practices by rote is not enough. Holiness is a matter of the heart, and God goes where he’s wanted. He stands at the door and knocks (Revelation 3:20). When our hearts are open, he will come in. He will cultivate within us love for him and love for our neighbors. God is love (1 John 4:8, 16), and when we share in his divine life (2 Peter 1:4), we become more like him." - David Watson

Good afternoon everyone. I am writing to pass a long some sad news for us.

First, Mary Lou Hix, a beloved member of our church passed away on Friday. Her funeral will be on Monday Oct. 5th at Rader-McDonald Tidd Funeral Home in West Jefferson. Viewing will be from 10am to Noon and her service will be at noon.

Also, another loved member of our church, Dale Timmons, passed away yesterday surrounded by his family. Arrangements are being made and I will pass them along when they are available.

Please keep both of these families in prayer as they go through this difficult time. For us it is a time of mourning. For Mary and for Dale, the time of rejoicing is here. As I like to remind you all every week, God is good, all the time.

Good morning everyone. I wanted to remind you of a few opportunities that we have here at Lilly Chapel.

Every Wednesday Evening at 7pm the Pastor's Bible Study meets in the fellowship hall in the Andrix addition. We are reading through the New Testament and this week we are on Matthew chapter 9.

Beginning on Monday September 21st there will be an Online Pastor's Bible Study that will meet via Zoom at 7pm. If you are interested in this please email me (Pastor Tim) at [email protected] .

Also, our Sunday School classes have begun again after taking the summer off. All classes are at 8:30am Sunday morning and we have adult and children's classes available. If you have any questions or are interested feel free to send me an email or drop in on Sunday morning!

Our Sunday morning worship services are at 10am every week. We look forward to seeing you here but if you can't make it we live stream our services here on this page as well.

Wonderful things are happening here at Lilly Chapel and we would love for you to be a part of it!

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is doing well after the storms that came through yesterday. The church and the parsonage are both without power. Hopefully it will be restored tonight.

The office is closed today and bible study tonight is cancelled.
