Day 5 continued: Music and dance gifts were shared by the community. Delicious soup and fry bread was eaten, then an art panel with Loriann Two Bulls, Micheal Two Bulls and Steve Whitehat! It was a meaningful closing to the Trip of Perspective!

Day 5 continued: The group met at noon to share reflections with one another then headed to Red Shirt Table to visit Pejuta Sapa (photo from another time).

Day 5: Free morning during which some of our group ventured to Racing Magpie to take in a great exhibit, IKCE.

Day 4 began with prayers. We visited the grave of Black Elk and held silence. We then went to Wounded Knee where Kelly Lookinghorse shared history and stories with us. It was good to visit with Kelly and Susie afterwards.

Then we drove to Red Cloud Indian School and Heritage Center. From there we met with Ed Iron Cloud III at the guild hall at Christ Church, Red Shirt Table for an interactive sharing. We got back to our place at 9:30 pm. What a full day with so much to reflect on.

Day 3 of Trip of Perspective ended with a great dinner cooked by Erica followed by discussion of Robert’s painting of Matoaka (Pocahontas) and evening prayers. Each day begins and closes with prayers led by Rev. Matthew Cobb.

Day 3 continued, we traveled to Pe' Sla, a sacred site in the Black Hills that is extremely important to the Oceti Sakowin people, who consider it the "heart of everything". The site is currently the subject of opposition to a proposed graphite exploratory drilling project by Pete Lien & Sons, which would be located on U.S. Forest Service land near Pe’ Sla. Carla Rae Marshall, Black Hills Clean Water Alliance, gave an excellent PowerPoint talk on mining and water. Rev. Linda Kramer hosted us.

Day 3: Faith and Money Trip of Perspective crew got to visit Crazy Horse Mountain. We watched the short film on the history of this mountain carving, took a bus ride around the base of the mountain, took in the art exhibits and had lunch in the cafe.

We fondly remembered the many campers and participants we brought here over the years with Rev. Michael Cunningham.
