Another blessed time as we gathered to honor and worship our God!
Yesterday we looked at "The Enemy in the Mirror" We discussed the ongoing conflict between the flesh and the Spirit. Every believer experiences this struggle. The flesh pulls us toward selfishness, pride, anger, and sinful desires, while the Holy Spirit leads us toward holiness, obedience, love, and surrender to Christ.
The good news is that God has not left us to fight this conflict alone. Our Victory is in walking daily with the Holy Spirit through dependence, surrender, and obedience.
This week, allow God to really work on you. Each day, take a few moments to ask yourself:
- Am I feeding my flesh or feeding my spirit?
- Am I following my feelings or following God's truth?
- Am I living for myself or living for Christ?
Before your feet hit the floor each morning, pray:
"Lord, today I surrender my will, my desires, my plans, and my attitudes to You. Let Your Spirit lead me so that my life will be pleasing to You."
Then intentionally take one step of obedience each day:
Choose forgiveness over bitterness.
Choose humility over pride.
Choose prayer over worry.
Choose God's Word over worldly influences.
Choose surrender over control.
Remember, the goal isn't perfection—it's dependence on the Holy Spirit. As you walk with Him daily, you'll discover that the greatest battle isn't won by trying harder, but by surrendering more completely to Christ.
Challenge: At the end of each day, ask yourself, "Who won the battle today—the flesh or the Spirit?" Then thank God for His grace and ask Him for strength to walk with Him tomorrow.
Have a blessed week and continue to grow in Christ!
