Today during street evangelism, the word was centered around the fig tree that Jesus cursed in Bible. The tree had leaves, giving the appearance that it was fruitful, but when Jesus came closer, there was no fruit on it.
That thing spoke deeply to me. So many people can have the outward appearance of godliness — the language, the look, the routine, even religion — yet inwardly be dry, empty, and spiritually dead. We can look alive on the outside while producing nothing on the inside.
God is not just looking for leaves. He is looking for fruit.
Not just appearance, but transformation.
Not just talk, but the fruit of the Spirit.
The Lord desires that our lives truly produce:
Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Gentleness. Goodness. Faith. Meekness. Temperance.
It’s possible to have a form of godliness, yet deny the power thereof. But God is calling His people beyond appearance and into a real relationship that bears fruit from the inward parts.
Today’s evangelism was a reminder that God sees beyond the leaves. He searches the heart
