Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Did you know that if just 1% more Americans donated blood, shortages would be alleviated?

Give hope this Sunday, April 19, and donate blood at CEC! Every donation saves up to three lives. Schedule a time at www.versiti.org/IL.

Purim is a holiday about joy, generosity, and remembering that we are stronger when we stay together. In the Book of Esther (9:22), we are taught that Purim should be celebrated by sending portions of food to one another. This practice is called Mishlach manot, which literally means “sending portions.” It is meant to spread happiness, strengthen friendships, and make sure no one feels alone or forgotten.

In that spirit, Congregation Etz Chaim is delighted to offer a Purim gift bag to every household in our community.

At its heart, this project is about community.
A Purim gift for every household.
A moment of connection.
A reminder that even during difficult seasons, we are thinking of one another.

Save the date for our 2026 Congregational Retreat: April 10-12!

Together as a community we will welcome Shabbat, sing, reflect, learn, and laugh.

This year's theme is inspired by the Book of Joel: "The old shall dream dreams. The youth shall see visions." Our retreat is a place where those dreams and visions are brought to life, offering all ages the chance to engage with Jewish learning.

We hope to see you there in 2026!
