Religious Education Leadership Update



Dear St. Pius X Parish Family,
I would like to share an important update regarding our Religious Education program.
Effective June 15, Laura May will be stepping down as our Director of Religious Education for personal reasons. We are deeply grateful for Laura's dedicated service to our parish and for the care she has shown to our children, families, catechists, and volunteers over the years. Please join me in keeping Laura and her family in your prayers during this time.
I am pleased to announce that Laura Mora will be serving as our new Director of Religious Education. Many of you already know Laura through her long-standing leadership in Hispanic Ministry and Hispanic Religious Education. For more than a decade, she has faithfully served our parish community, building strong relationships, empowering volunteers, and helping people grow in their faith.
One of Laura's greatest gifts is her ability to bring people together and build strong teams. Rather than trying to do everything herself, she has consistently identified the talents of others, invited them into leadership, and created opportunities for ministry to flourish. I am confident these gifts will serve our parish well in this new role.
As we look ahead, our goal is not simply to maintain our Religious Education program, but to continue growing it. There are many families in our area with children who have been baptized but are not currently receiving ongoing faith formation. We want St. Pius X to be a place where those families can encounter Christ, deepen their faith, and find a welcoming community.
At the same time, we will continue working closely with our school and our Hispanic and English-speaking communities to ensure that sacramental preparation remains faithful, effective, and responsive to the needs of the families we serve. While different ministries may approach formation in different ways, our shared mission remains the same: helping people love Jesus Christ.
Please join me in thanking Laura May for her service, welcoming Laura Mora into this new role, and praying for all those who help pass on the faith to the next generation.

🌿 A huge thank you to our incredible St. Pius X Catholic Community volunteers who came together on Saturday, June 13, to help beautify our campus!

With many helping hands and generous hearts, our volunteers spread an amazing 60 cubic yards of mulch across the St. Pius X grounds, giving our campus a fresh look for the summer season.

A special thank you goes to Mr. Dave Cilella, our St. Pius X Campus Manager, for organizing this effort and leading the project from start to finish. Your hard work and dedication help make St. Pius X a welcoming and beautiful place for all who visit, worship, and learn here.

We are blessed to be part of a community that continually steps up to serve one another and take pride in caring for our parish home.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered your time and energy—we couldn't have done it without you!

St. Mother Teresa beautifully reminds us: the Cross shows Jesus' love from 2000 years ago, while the Eucharist shows His love for us right now. He is truly present, guiding us to our eternal home.

Glow Run 2026 is THIS SATURDAY and the St. Pius X East Parking Lot is about to light up!

Join the SPX community on Saturday, May 30 for a night filled with music, food, dancing, carnival games, glow gear, face painting, and this year’s BIGGEST attraction… the COLOR RUN!

NEW THIS YEAR — A Touch of Color!
Be ready to turn those commemorative white Glow Run shirts into colorful masterpieces during the run!

Event Highlights:
• Inflatable carnival games including Axe Throw, Darts, Basketball Shootout, Down-A-Clown, Giant Connect 4 & Plinko
• Glow accessories & glow face painting
• DJ & community dance area
• Dance Team performances by Littlest Knights, Knight Crew & Knight Life
• Food favorites including hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, bacon & cheese brats, Rainbow Cone sponsored ice cream, adult beverages & more

Schedule:
• 6:00 PM – Early Check-In Opens
• 6:30 PM – Attractions Open
• 7:00 PM – Glow Run Heats Begin
• 8:00 PM – Dance Performances
• 8:40 PM – Community Glow Dance Party

Walk-up attendees are welcome!

We are also still looking for volunteers for setup and cleanup. Many hands make light work and every bit of help makes this event possible for our community.
