Today, our community gathered in gratitude, takbīr, and remembrance of Allah ﷻ as we welcomed the blessed day of Eid al-Adha together. From the early morning prayers to the smiles, embraces, and reunions throughout the Masjid, these are the moments that remind us what a beautiful gift this ummah truly is.

As we celebrate, we ask Allah ﷻ to accept our sacrifices, forgive our shortcomings, and allow the Barakah of these blessed days to remain with us long after Eid has passed.

May Allah ﷻ fill your homes with barakah, your hearts with peace, and your families with joy.

Eid Mubarak.

Today is the day of Eid, a day of joy, gratitude, and sacrifice. But it is also the closing of the blessed ten days of Dhul Hijjah.

Allah (SWT) says:
“And worship your Lord until certainty comes to you.” (15:99)

This episode reflects on the deeper meaning of sacrifice and the question that remains after these ten days: did anything truly change in our lives?

The real test is not only what we did during these days, but what we continue after them.

One of the best actions in these blessed days is Du‘a.

In Episode 9 of The Sacrifice, Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood reflects on Du‘a as an act of humility, surrender, and nearness to Allah (SWT), especially on the Day of ‘Arafah.

Allah (SWT) says:

“When My servants ask you about Me, then indeed, I am near.” (2:186)

These blessed days are a time to ask Allah (SWT) with sincerity for forgiveness, guidance, relief, and everything needed for the Dunya and the akhirah.

The Sacrifice: The Du‘a | Episode 9 | Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood | Dhul Hijjah 2026 | 3 Minute Series

Allah (SWT) tests His servants from time to time, and the legacy of Ibrahim عليه السلام teaches us that what made him so beloved to Allah (SWT) was not simply the difficulty of his trials, but the way he responded to them: with complete submission.

Allah (SWT) says:

“When his Lord said to him, ‘Submit,’ he said, ‘I have submitted to the Lord of all worlds.’” (2:131)

This episode reflects on the sacrifice of submitting through tests and the need to respond to hardship with trust, patience, and surrender to Allah.

The Sacrifice: The Test | Episode 8 | Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood

05/25/2026

One of the greatest sacrifices is not outside of us. It is within us.

In Episode 7 of The Sacrifice, Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood reflects on the nafs, the pull of desire, and the strength it takes to restrain oneself for the sake of Allah.

Allah (SWT) says:

“As for the one who fears standing before his Lord and restrains himself from desire, then Paradise will be his home.” (79:40–41)

This episode reflects on the sacrifice of desire, the struggle to restrain the nafs, and the strength it takes to choose what pleases Allah (SWT) over what only satisfies the moment.

05/23/2026

One of the greatest illusions we live with is the belief that we do not have time.

In Episode 6 of The Sacrifice, Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood reflects on the distractions that consume our days and the need to make time for Allah (SWT) in these blessed ten days.

Allah (SWT) says:
“O you who believe, do not let your wealth or your children distract you from the remembrance of Allah.” (63:9)

If we truly understand the value of these days, we will not wait for time to appear. We will make time for Allah (SWT).

05/22/2026

One of the hardest things to sacrifice is wealth.

In Episode 5 of The Sacrifice, Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood reflects on the test of giving, the hesitation of the nafs, and the sincerity it takes to spend for the sake of Allah.

Allah says:
“You will never attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love.” (3:92)

These blessed days are an opportunity to give, even if only a little, and to train the heart not to be owned by wealth.

05/22/2026

Everyone wants closeness to Allah, but not everyone is willing to leave comfort for it.

In Episode 4 of The Sacrifice, Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood reflects on the comfort that holds us back, the striving required to grow, and the sacrifices that bring a servant closer to Allah.

Allah (SWT) says:
“As for those who struggle in Our way, We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the people of excellence.” [29:69]

These blessed days are not meant to pass in pure ease. They are days to strive, push beyond comfort, and seek something greater.

05/20/2026

One of the most important sacrifices in these blessed days is not only increasing good deeds, but leaving sin behind.

In Episode 3 of The Sacrifice, Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood reflects on repentance, sincere return to Allah (SWT), and the need to remove what stands between us and Him.

Allah says:
“Turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, so that you may be successful.” 24:31

These days are an opportunity to change. Not just by doing more, but by letting go of what displeases Allah (SWT).

05/19/2026

One of the hardest sacrifices is not outward. It is inward.

In Episode 2 of The Sacrifice, Mawlānā Sulaiman Mahmood reflects on the ego and how pride, defensiveness, and self-importance can stand between a person and Allah.

Allah says:
“So do not ˹falsely˺ elevate yourselves. He knows best who is ˹truly˺ righteous.” 53:32

If these blessed days are going to change us, then one of the first things we must sacrifice is the ego.
