Thank You!
The Planning Committee for the September 19th “Taste of Christ the King” did a spectacular job of pulling together an array of international foods and a wonderful fellowship experience for this parish!
Many thanks to our Pastor, Father Jeff Stoneberg, and the Steering Committee –
Carol Paulsen, Rachel Vaughan, Irene Boutiette and Maryann Hespen.
And like all things “Church”, it takes many hands to make a project happen. Thanks go to all the volunteers for their time and talent.
And finally, this entire event would have been impossible without the gracious cooks that donated some of their finest dishes to share with the Christ the King community and all of you who came and enjoyed a great meal honoring the idea of diversity and discipleship!
If you couldn’t participate in this event, watch the bulletin, listen to the Welcome Announcements, because between your Knights and the CCW, there is always something going on. If you have a suggestion for a fellowship event, please reach out to your pastoral team! We’d love a new idea, and your participation in this wonderful parish.
Next time we have event we hope that you can . . . . “Come and dine" (John 21:12)

Today is the somber 25th anniversary of September 11, when 2,977 people were killed in the deadliest terrorist attacks in American history. Islamic jihadists hijacked and crashed planes into both towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and an empty field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers fought back the hijackers.

+ God of understanding, overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy, we seek your light and guidance as we confront such terrible events. Grant that those whose lives were spared may live so that the lives lost here may not have been lost in vain. Comfort and console us, strengthen us in hope, and give us the wisdom and courage to work tirelessly for a world where true peace and love reign among nations and in the hearts of all - Pope Benedict XVI

Feast of Saint James, the Apostle, the brother of Saint John the Evangelist, sons of Zebedee or Sons of Thunder.
Jesus taught them all the lesson of humble service: The purpose of authority is to serve. They are not to impose their will on others, or lord it over them. This is the position of Jesus himself. He was the servant of all; the service imposed on him was the supreme sacrifice of his own life. Saint James, pray for us!
