The only way to have eternal life is to know God, "the only true God, and Jesus Christ" (John 17:3).

The only way to truly know God and His Son, Jesus, is by reading the Bible.

We need to open the book if we want to know the Author.

Reading the Bible is simpler now than ever! You can choose from a paper copy or an electronic text. You can choose an easier-to-read, modern translation or choose to study the scriptures in their original languages.

Whenever you reach out to understand God through His Word, He is there. In Amos 5:4, God states "seek me, and you will live"! Jesus likewise says "seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7).

This is a great time to start (or restart!) reading the Bible. If you want some information, or just a little direction or accountability, send us a message. We'd be happy to help.

May God bless you!

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! May you experience the love of God as we consider the birth of His Son - not only today, but every day. Remember the hope that we share through Christ: an eternal Kingdom on Earth!

In that future Kingdom, the prophet Zechariah says: "On that day the bells of the horses will bear the inscription "HOLY TO THE LORD."

Everything will be holy and perfect when God's kingdom is set up, down to the bells on the horses. This will include us! We will be perfectly at peace. Perfectly loving and loved. For eternity.

May you find hope in God's promises today, even if your situation isn't perfect. We are praying for all who celebrate and all who struggle this season, so come meet us at the chapel next Sunday! We look forward to talking to you about God and His Son, and the hope we have.

Does what we do every day really matter?

The apostle Paul was inspired to answer this question in Ephesians 5:15-17: "So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

We have to recognize that we can make a difference in our own lives and the lives of others by following God. We can avoid dangerous roads by paying attention to the signs He gives us in His word and in our lives, and walking wisely!

But what does it mean to be wise? Well, to be a "fool" in the BIble means to act like we don't believe in God (Psalm 14:1). So the opposite, being wise, is to believe in God, and also act in a way that shows that belief in God.

Whether we're showing God's forgiveness and mercy to someone who has hurt us, singing praise to God during our commute, or telling a friend who doesn't know God about the hope we have in Jesus, we are making a difference in this world - for the better.

"TGIF!"

It's a phase we hear pretty often: "Thank God it's Friday". But do we really stop and think about God and all His help, His goodness, and His plan for us to live forever with Him?

This verse, Psalm 50:23, goes on to say, "If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.”

This isn't only a passive "thanks" as we go about our days (although that can be part of gratitude), this is living a life of thankfulness to God. This gratitude is one way that we can give glory to God!

So the next time we say something like, "TGIF!" or "thank God you're okay", let's pause and think about the words we're saying, and live a life of gratitude toward God. This is how we move closer to that salvation that the Psalmist talked about.

There are many excuses for not believing the Bible, but we must see them as just that: excuses.

We as believe the is wholly inspired by God and given to people that they might come to know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, and be saved into His Kingdom on earth.

It's up to each of us, as individual readers of the Bible, to seek God through His word. In Isaiah 66:2, God says, "'These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word'".

We need to not just read the Bible, but 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘦 at it. Even when God says something that we disagree with, we have to realize that it's not God that is wrong...it's us.

But there is hope! Christ can make us right with God. He can change our minds. He can make us fit for His Kingdom.

If any of this sparks your curiosity, or makes you wonder why we believe these things, send us a message. We would love to talk about the Bible with you!

Today, let's take a breath and remember that God has us in His hands. We don't have to plan, fix, manage or control - just obey.

As the week begins, many of us begin to think about our to-do lists, our concerns and activities for the next few days. Some of these can even turn into worries.

But what’s the big deal? What can worry do to us spiritually?

1) It can drive us to sin. If we're focused on relieving anxiety, we can look to things outside God's will - like addictions, anger, self-destructive behaviors - to make us feel better.

2) It can lead us away from God. It can take time away from our prayer life, our godly relationships with others, and our mediation on His Word.

3) It can distract us from God's work. It draws our minds to things that might not even happen instead of the very real things that we need to be doing in His service.

4) It tires us out, so we can't do anything else that God wants us to be doing!

We know that "God is not the author of confusion but of peace," (1 Corinthians 14:33). On top of this, we're commanded not to worry by Jesus in Matthew 6:34.

So this week, let’s try to let go of our worries and cling our faith. We can remember what Peter says about God in 1 Peter 5:7:  “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you”.
