Happy Hanukkah 🕎

As we light the candles, may we remember that even the smallest flame can push back the deepest darkness. Hanukkah reminds us of hope, perseverance, and “Elohim” God’s faithfulness especially in moments when miracles feel far away.

May these lights bring warmth to your home, peace to your heart, and renewed faith that brighter days are always ahead. Let us hold close the people we love, cherish our traditions, and give thanks for the miracles, both big and small that continue to show up in our lives.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”
Psalm 27:1

Blessings to you and your family a Hanukkah filled with light, love, and lasting joy. ✨

Yeshua is the Passover Lamb. 🐑❤️
April 11th-April 13th.

🕊️ Happy Passover! 🕊️

Today at Sundown- Sunday at Sundown
we pause to remember the faithfulness of Elohim—who delivered His people from Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. 🙌🏾✨
“This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations… as a statute forever.” – Exodus 12:14
Passover isn’t just a tradition—it’s a divine appointment. The Lord commanded it so we would never forget His power to save, to deliver, and to redeem. 💥🔥
But for those of us who follow Yeshua, Passover holds an even deeper meaning:
Yeshua is the Passover Lamb. 🐑❤️
Just as the blood of the lamb covered the doorposts and protected the Israelites from death, His blood covers us—bringing eternal life, freedom from sin, and victory over death.
"For Messiah, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed." – 1 Corinthians 5:7
Let this Passover be more than a memory—let it be a moment of worship.
A celebration of deliverance.
A reminder that the Lamb has overcome. 🕊️

Rosh Hashanah is the Biblical New Year, which marks the beginning of the year and celebrates the creation of the world. The name Rosh Hashanah comes from the Hebrew words rosh, meaning "head", ha, the definite article ("the"), and shana, meaning "year".

The Bible mentions Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Feast of Trumpets, in Leviticus 23:24 and Numbers 29:1:

Leviticus 23:24
In this verse, God instructs Moses to tell the Israelites to observe a holy day of rest and trumpet blasts on the first day of the seventh month.

Numbers 29:1
This verse refers to the festival as yom teru'ah, which means "day of blowing [the horn]"

The most common greeting to say on (or before) the Day of Rest is "Shabbat Shalom."

The meaning of the Sabbath institution comes to light against the background of several key facts. First, Exodus 20:8-11 makes a clear connection between the Sabbath day and the seventh day on which God “Elohim” the Creator rested. Sabbath observance therefore involves the affirmation that God “Elohim” is Creator and Sustainer of the world.

“And in the seventh day Elohim completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And Elohim blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which Elohim in creating had made.”

Yom Kippur is the holiest, most important day of the year in the Bible known as the “Day of Atonement.” It begins at sundown Tuesday, October 4, 2022, and ends Wednesday evening, October 5th—the last of the ten days of penitence that began with Rosh Hashanah (the New Year). Yom Kippur commemorates the day Moses came down from Mount Sinai after seeking God’s divine forgiveness for the Israelites who sinned against him by worshipping a golden calf idol.

How to celebrate

Before Yom Kippur

Just as Yom Kippur is a day of fasting, the day before Yom Kippur is set aside for eating and preparing for this holy day. There are many activities done before the fast, including eating a pre-fast meal, known as the seudah ha-mafaseket (“meal of separation” or “concluding meal”), lighting of candles, donating to charity, and requesting and receiving honey cake, which provides blessings for a sweet year.

Prepare:
We are all human, and we occasionally slip. Is there anyone you may have offended or otherwise hurt? Go ahead and ask for their forgiveness. Are you carrying any grudges? Now is the time to sincerely and wholeheartedly let them go.

How:
For nearly 26 hours we “afflict our souls” by avoiding the following actions:

Eating or drinking (in case of need, consult a medical professional )
Washing or bathing during the fast
Engaging in conjugal relations during the fast
Like Shabbat, no work is to be done, and special holiday candles are lit before the onset of the holy day.

What Is The Proper Greeting At Yom Kippur?

The greeting for Yom Kippur is G’mar Hatima Tova, or G’mar Tov. (meaning, “May you be sealed in the Book of Life”). It is also customary to say, “have a meaningful fast” before the holiday begins.

Feeling ill-equipped and under-qualified? Are you wrestling with an assignment from God because you don’t feel like you have what it takes? Or maybe you just don’t feel ready?

That’s exactly how Jeremiah felt in today's verses. I would bet most of us have been there, telling ourselves that we trust God to lead us, but then dragging our feet because we can’t seem to trust ourselves enough to take that first step.

But here’s the thing: when we say no to something God is asking of us based on our own talent or abilities, we are basically saying, “God, you didn’t make me good enough to do Your work.” And that, my friend, is a lie straight from the enemy.

Wouldn’t it make sense that God’s “ask” is going to be bigger than our “talent” because He wants us to depend on Him?

Don’t you think God’s plan is going to almost always include us stepping outside of our comfort zone because that’s where we get to give Him the most glory?

I am convicted by all of this even as I am writing right now because I can’t help but feel like there is some pressure for ME to “get it right.”

But before I started writing, I prayed for those of you who will read this, and I prayed that the words written here would not be mine, but all His. I asked God to put His words in my mouth, and He is!

You don't have to be a Bible teacher or a devotional writer to relate to Jeremiah. If you are a follower of Christ, this pertains to you! He will give you everything you need to do the work He has called you to no matter what it is.

So whatever God is asking of you, will you do it? He literally created you so that you can. Just ask Him to reach out His hand and give you the exact words (as well as the energy, endurance, wisdom, and strength) to do it and to do it well!

Thank You, God, for Your Word that reminds me that it’s not in my power, but Yours, that I live! Help me to obey You. Help me to be courageous in doing whatever You have called me to do. I love You so much! Amen.

Why are humans so worried about being successful? Probably because we understand that the opposite of success is failure and we certainly don’t want to be failures.

So, we live our lives striving for success in fear of failure which is basically the equivalent of being on a human hamster wheel.

And then we wonder why we’re going nowhere, and yet, we feel absolutely exhausted.

This is exactly what happens when believers allow the world to define certain things for us. Success, as defined by the world, and success, as defined by God, are completely opposite.

The world says success looks a certain way, such as respect, money, accolades, freedom, happiness, health, etc.

God says success looks like obedience to Him.

Can obedience to God also come with the list above? Of course but those things cannot be our focus, our end goal, or even our motivation.

It’s our job to obey, and God will then take care of us however He sees fit.

For instance, take the advice David gave to his son, Solomon, at the end of his life. (Keep in mind this is David, the same David that killed Goliath, the great King David that wrote the Psalms!) He had been through some of the highest highs and the lowest lows so there is a lot of wisdom he could have passed on to Solomon.

Re-read the last piece of advice David had for his son:

“When David's time to die drew near, he commanded Solomon his son, saying, ‘I am about to go the way of all the earth. Be strong, and show yourself a man, and keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn,’” 1 Kings 2:1-3

There is nothing wrong with success as long as it’s a by-product of your obedience to God. So, walk in His ways, keep His commandments, love Him so much that you can’t help but obey Him! That is where you will find not only success, but contentment, purpose, joy, and so much more.

God, we love You! Help us to hear Your voice so that we can walk in obedience! Amen.

Overcome Fear with Faith

Fear can take many forms—worry, anxiety, panic or even dread. But it’s so important for us to get the upper hand on fear because it does not come from God.

Even when we face uncertainty or difficulties in life, God wants us to have faith that He is with us in the struggle and that He can do great things. He wants us to remain positive and full of hope!

Faith is the opposite of fear. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith allows us to believe that God is going to do something great even before it comes to pass. Faith enables us to believe things that may not make sense to our natural minds.

One of the main ways we release our faith is through what we say. So, even when it doesn’t look like good things are happening, it’s important to say what God’s Word says about our situation.

When you are going through a difficult time or find yourself expecting the worst, I encourage you to say things like:

“God has a great plan for my future, and I believe something good is going to happen today!” (See Jeremiah 29:11.)

“My future is bright, and I have nothing to worry about—God is taking care of me. The Lord’s goodness and mercy follow me every single day of my life!” (See Philippians 4:6; Psalm 23:6.)

“I don’t have to fear, because God is always with me.” (See Joshua 1:9.)

Living by faith doesn’t mean that we ignore our circumstances, but it means that we choose to focus on God and believe that He is greater than anything we are going through (see Ephesians 3:20).

Pray: “God, thank You for watching over every detail of my life. When things are uncertain, help me to believe Your Word more than my doubts and fears. Help me to speak words of faith and say what You say about my situation. I know that You are greater than my fears and You have good things planned for my future. In Yeshua Name, amen.”

Do you ever feel that life is so busy that you don’t even have time to pray? That even though you genuinely long to spend more time with God and to live everyday life in His peace, you keep postponing it only after your day is less busy and your life is in order? Rest assured, you are not alone!

But what if we just need to see it the other way around: once we start praying more, then we will have more of His peace in our everyday lives. Once we invite God in our everyday busyness, He can change our habits and patterns to the point that we live a life in constant prayer. And once we cover our days in prayer and see things from His perspective, our lives won’t feel that chaotic and busy anymore.

Prayer is not meant to be the end-result of a peaceful life in order, but the starting point and pathway to a life lived in the Lord’s peace. Life can be hard or easy, busy or peaceful, boring or joyful, but we can and should always choose to pray.

Where and how do we start? We’ve seen a tremendous impact in our lives when we adopted two simple methods that helped us be focused in prayer: keeping a ‘praylist’ and setting up reminders. That may be all it takes to make prayer a habit and see how our lives will be transformed when we let the Lord work in us daily.
