A dedicated team of six from South Central Ohio District recently returned from a life-changing mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya. Their mission was to deliver much needed equipment and to share the Gospel message of hope and salvation. The journey was not without its struggles. The team encountered several hurdles and delays while transporting the equipment, but there’s no doubt they were sustained through prayer and divine intervention. Though facing challenges, the team felt God’s presence every step of the way.
The team took two days to travel to a remote area where they visited a church built with sticks and cloth tarps. This fully organized church of 80 members has existed for four months and already has a foundation and vision for ten church plants. This vibrant church is a testament to the passage of Acts 2 - "having received the anointing of fire from above”. Despite the growing opposition of other religious and gang affiliated obstacles, they are bound and determined to reach their portion of Kenya with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
In efforts to help support the church the team donated $2,500 to fund a metal roof, which will help protect them against the elements of the rainy season, which is just around the corner. The DS, local pastor, and enthusiastic members expressed deep gratitude and recognized this gift as an answer to their prayers.
There was a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit throughout the trip as the team experienced incredible moments of ministry, prayer, and healing. As they left Nairobi, the team knew they hadn’t only delivered physical equipment but also sowed seeds of spiritual hope that will bear fruit for years to come. As this team made a lasting difference, they are hopeful it will be a testament that inspires others to continued prayer and spreading the message of the life-sustaining grace of Jesus Christ. We are ever thankful for these faithful selfless servants.
