Scripture: John 19:6, 15-17
When the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, โCrucify him, crucify him!โ Pilate said to them, โTake him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no crime in him.โ They cried out, โAway with him, away with him, crucify him!โ Pilate said to them, โShall I crucify your King?โ The chief priests answered, โWe have no king but Caesar.โ Then he handed him over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called the place of a skull, which is called in Hebrew Golโgotha.
Reflection:
The world tells us we should do anything to avoid pain and suffering today. But thatโs not how Jesus was. He embraced every experience of pain and suffering. Why the great difference between Jesusโ approach and the worldโs approach? The world believes that suffering has no value and should be avoided at all costs. God believes that suffering has valueโenough value to save all of humanity. We all join in his suffering in different waysโand itโs an invitation to pick up our own cross and follow him. Letโs look to Jesus and bring our suffering to him, and allow him to transform us in ways unimaginable.
