Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, has been transparent about his Christian faith: "God gave us the brain and the opportunity to understand God's creation, which includes things like viruses. I think God expected us to use those gifts to understand how to protect ourselves and others from the disease."

Take a moment to reflect with Pastor Ben, Dr. Collins, and words from Scripture about how God cares for the world through medicine. Then keep reading about what God is doing in Lodi and beyond!

Meet Our Guest Preacher! Rev. Chelsea McCutchin is the Minister of Education & Community Engagement at University Christian Church of Austin, Texas. She is a graduate of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, where she received the Chidester Preaching award. Along with her husband Matt and a...

With gratitude on the menu this week, it's the perfect time to (re)acquaint ourselves with the Haundenosaunee Thanksgiving Address. Our loving Creator made a world where every being has a gift to share. With Six Nations neighbors we say, "Thank you," and offer our gifts.

Pause and reflect with us, and then catch up on news and prayers from our congregation. It's all in our mid-week newsletter, "Grace and Peace."

Listen to an abbreviated version of the Thanksgiving Address in Onöndowa'ga': Gawë:nö (Seneca language) by clicking on the image below. The banner reading "Ganö:nyök" hangs in Salamanca High School; the illustration is by Bill Crouse.

On election day, we affirm that every voter's voice matters. Let us lift up our voices and our hearts in prayer, entrusting the nation and our lives to God's care.

Take a moment to pause and pray with us, in several different ways. Grace and peace be with you!

While we wait for the state supreme court to approve the sale of the building to the town of Lodi, we have good news to celebrate in the lives of our members!

Susan Frost is continuing her journey towards ordination! This fall Susan is completing her Clinical Pastoral Education unit with Crossroads of Caring in Rochester. Crossroads is a dynamic partnership between CRCDS, St. Mark's & St. John's Episcopal Church, and East House. We know that Susan's gentle presence will be a blessing to all who are on the path to recovery and wholeness.

Dorothy Scaggs had a successful surgery for cochlear implants. We pray for swift healing and God's help with adjusting to a new world of sound.

Chandra McGonigal, Amanda and Jim's daughter, is marrying Ryan Piersimoni on Saturday, October 10, in a small ceremony with family. We give thanks for the life that they are beginning together and pray God's blessing on them!

How else can we give thanks? Who or what can we lift up in prayer?

When the prophet Jeremiah was in prison, his cousin Hanamel became a vehicle for God's grace. In this week's newsletter, Ben shares his own Hanamel experience: a conversation that led to tomorrow night's Town Board vote to purchase our property.

Take a moment to pray for our congregation and our leaders who are bringing our work to a grace-filled close.

What do you miss? Who do you wish you could see and hug? The late poet John O'Donohue invites us to ponder absence and the surprising gifts it reveals.

Take a moment to reflect and pray with us, and then read more of our mid-week newsletter "Grace and Peace" to learn what's happening in Lodi these long summer days.

What a delight to hear from our dear one and recent seminary grad Susan Frost! Hear how Susan explores how trust in God causes our lives to blossom with gifts for one another, just as the roadside lilies open to the sun. (Audio recorded at our partner church in Hector.)

"The true test of both calling and character," writes Carol Bechtel, "is whether we can trust God and act faithfully in times of uncertainty." Guest preacher Susan Frost explores how such trust causes our lives to blossom with gifts for one anothe...
