This past weekend the Daughters of Grace went on their women’s retreat to Dahlonega.
You are not going to believe this but the traffic from Locust Grove to Dahlonega was non-stop. I only had to put on the brakes at GA 400 for just a minute. Hard to believe I know, but God gave us traveling graces.
We had a great time all weekend from touring the town of Dahlonega to playing games to showing our artistic side by painting. These women were hesitant about painting, but everyone’s painting was special and beautiful. We had two speakers that we all enjoyed. Our very own Halie Srader spoke about how her new adventure started by a push from God. She said God told her to go to Hobby Lobby. Can anyone else relate to that? :} Check out her page Little Ruth Co. to see the items she creates and makes by hand. Read her story of how Little Ruth Co. came about. Truly inspirational. What a blessing to hear her testimony. Thank you Halie.
Friday night we all participated in Minute to Win it games. This was so much fun. Smiles and laughter came from everyone. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Women of Philippi are very competitive. Wow!
Saturday, we had a speaker Lanie Beth Sinclair. She spoke on Colossians. A few takeaways that I think we all needed to hear.
You are qualified to do what God has called you to do.
God is pleased with us because he is in us.
Hope is a feeling and a fact.
She challenged us as we meet people – Get to know people – ask about them so you “know” them. Ask God what do you want me to know and what do you want me to do.
Paul wanted the believers in Colossae to continue to ask God for peace, wisdom, knowledge, grace and hold other believers accountable and stay connected with God. Christ is over everything.
Through this teaching we had some words of wisdom come from a few women. “Instead of being a victim, be victorious”. “Change your daily soundtrack” in your mind to what God wants you to hear and do.
After having deep conversation, we had a time of relaxation of painting. Each painting is beautiful and meaningful. These paintings came from the heart.
I pray everyone came away rested, revitalized and with a renewed heart for God.
We had a great time and are looking forward to next year. Thank you for all who helped pull this amazing weekend together.
