As-salamu alaykum everyone,

InshaAllah, we will have Eid prayers at 8:00 AM this Friday or Saturday, depending on the local moon sighting confirmed by the Chicago Hilal Committee. Our Khateeb will be Hafiz Mujtaba Mohiuddin.

Please note that the prayer will start promptly at 8:00 AM, followed by the Khutbah. We kindly request everyone to be on time. The Eid Takbeer will begin at 7:45 AM.

Join us as we complete the recitation of the entire Qur’an in Taraweeh and gather for the special Khatm Du‘a during this blessed month of Ramadan. A beautiful night of du‘a, gratitude, and reflection upon the words of Allah.

Highlights from our Qur’an Night.

Our scholars spoke about the different maqāmāt used in Qur’an recitation and the various qirāʾāt, helping us better understand the depth and beauty of the Qur’an as we listened to the recitations throughout the night.

May Allah ﷻ protect our shuyūkh, reward those who recited and attended, and keep us connected to His Book.

Join us at Masjid Sahl in Lockport, IL for a beautiful and inspiring night of Qur’an recitation and reflection.

Our honored guests will be covering powerful and beneficial topics:

• Shaykh Nasser Arubi will be speaking about what Maqāmāt are, explaining the different styles of recitation, and demonstrating them live with Qur’an recitation.

• Mawlana Umar Ahmed will be speaking about the 10 Qirā’āt, what an Ijazah is, and what a Sanad is — helping us understand the depth and preservation of the Qur’an.

• Shaykh Hassan Ali Kasi will bless us with a beautiful Qur’an recitation in the Mujawwad style.

This week marked a special milestone for
Masjid Sahl as we hosted our first community Iftar of Ramadan..

As the sun set, families and community members gather to break their fast together, sharing food, gratitude, and reflection.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. The evening meal, known as Iftar, is followed by special nightly prayers called Taraweeh.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped make this gathering meaningful. We look forward to many more, insha’Allah.

Tonight at Masjid Sahl, our community gathered for the special nightly prayers of Ramadan known as Taraweeh.

After breaking the fast at sunset, worshippers returned to the masjid to stand in prayer, listen to the recitation of the Qur’an, and reflect together.

These late-night prayers are one of the most meaningful parts of Ramadan for many Muslims — a time of focus, discipline, and spiritual renewal.

We are grateful to see our community coming together throughout this month.

For Muslims, fasting from sunrise to sunset isn’t just about food — it’s about intention, patience, and gratitude.

We’re grateful to share what Ramadan means to us and welcome respectful questions and conversations.

Masjid Sahl is excited to announce the First Ever Tarawih in Lockport at our beloved Masjid! Alhamdulillah, we are honored to welcome the community for this special milestone in Ramadan.

🕌 Isha: 7:30 PM
Tarawih will begin immediately after Isha.

📖 20 Rak‘ah + Witr nightly
✨ Full Qur’an completion in 29 nights
🎤 Islamic talks every Friday & Saturday

Tarawih will be led by:

* Hafiz Umar Muhammad

Tarawih will begin pending local moon sighting (following Chicago Hilal), inshaAllah on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, or Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
