COATS FOR KIDS WILL BE COLLECTED IN LOCKHART for the 35TH YEAR on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the First Methodist Church off West San Antonio Street, starting at 9 a.m. Thanks to Clint Mohle and all volunteers for organizing this wonderful event that has helped Lockhart families since its inception. Donations of coats are welcomed and can be dropped off at First Christian Church in Lockhart.

Well it is that time of year again. The 34th Annual “Coats for Kids” will be on Saturday December 14th from 9am till noon. The First Christian church with help from many local churches and individuals do this every 2nd Saturday in December. The Distribution will be at the Methodist Church on San Antonio street across from City Hall. The address is 313 West San Antonio Street in Lockhart. The gymnasium behind the church is where all the fun happens. It is a “First come, first served basis.”

I have lots to share and say, but I hate long text. (Nobody has time to read anything this long and wordy) Everyone likes to be there for distribution, but FRIDAY evening and night is were the work and guts of this act of love are. We need help and volunteers to make this work. “Coats for Kids” gives away new coats to children that do not have a coat. The only condition is that you are local and need a coat. We usually have socks, beanies or those things you but on your head to keep the heat in.
If you are still reading this, we need monetary donations to purchase coats. The check can be made out to “First Christian Church” and earmark it for Coats for Kids. The mailing address is P.O. Box 336 Lockhart Texas 78644. All the money donated goes to “Coats for Kids”!
