Romania has officially opened one of the world’s largest cathedrals dedicated to Christ’s Ascension, drawing attention across Europe and beyond. The landmark structure is being described as both an architectural achievement and a major religious symbol.

The cathedral reflects centuries of Christian tradition and is seen by believers as a sign of enduring faith. Many say it represents perseverance through history, while also highlighting the continued importance of Christianity in shaping cultural and national identity.

Supporters view the building as a reminder of spiritual heritage in a modern world of rapid change. It has sparked global discussion about faith, history, and architecture, according to Romanian media reports and international news coverage.

This is Pentecost week so there are NO fasting restrictions - come for the Liturgy, stay for the BBQ! Barely a block from Barb’s.

In 1999 no less an authority than the Texas House of Representatives named Lockhart the Barbecue Capital of Texas, crowning the home of Kreuz Market, Smitty’s Market, and Black’s (both Terry’s and not Terry’s). Nearly three decades later, the city’s reputation for top-tier ’cue has been invigorated by the likes of Barbs B Q, whose smoke began permeating the town square in 2023; aficionados from around the world line up well before doors open at 11 a.m. for its serrano-glazed ribs.

But there are other, newer reasons to visit Lockhart that have nothing to do with barbecue. 👀
