"As a young person, it is hard to imagine what the world will look like for me 20 years from now.
I have no idea what house I will live in, what car I will drive, whether or not I will be married…all of those things are a mystery.
I do know what my life will look like 100 years from now: I will be worshipping Jesus in heaven with my loved ones beside me. I will be living in a mansion that my Saviour made just for me. I will meet the great apostles and hear them praise God for the suffering they experienced in His name because it led many souls to faith. I will have Bible studies with people who are in heaven because I shared the gospel with them. It will be a time of rejoicing forever!!
With those thoughts comes the sobering reminder that although this life is temporary, the choices we make to invest in God’s Kingdom will affect eternity.
If I think of life as a field, and every choice I make is planting a seed that God will harvest at the end of it, what kind of seeds should I be planting? What fruit do I want to offer Him? Will I be able to stand before His throne and be proud of the way I lived my life—a life that He purchased with His own blood?
With eternity in mind, it really puts in perspective what is valuable, and what is worthless.
So back to the question: what will my life look like 20 years from now? I don’t know. But today, and tomorrow, and every day until then, I want to spend my time planting seeds for eternity. I am looking upwards to my Saviour, with my 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 that is to come.
