The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience through wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed by Jerome Berryman using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle and late childhood and beyond. Godly Play is different from traditional religious
education. There are no text books--instead, Bible stories are shared with the children by Storytellers using interactive materials. After the story portion, children are given an opportunity to work with the materials independently. What to expect on the first day.....
Bring your children to the Godly Play room by 9:45am. You will be greeted at the door by the "Door Person". The Door Person's role is to ready your child to enter the Godly Play room. We ask parents to leave children at the door to best prepare them to enter the carefully designed Godly Play environment. Children will rejoin parents in the sanctuary during the offering. Parents are welcome to come and visit Godly Play classroom any time after worship to see what your children have been doing. Core Team Members:
