Busy? Yep. Feeling Blessed? Absolutely!
As we wrap up this week, we look back with gratitude at all the moments that have prepared us for the first day of school. It was a beautiful sight to see our families gathered for the noon Mass. The heart of our school is our Catholic faith, and worshipping together is a true expression of our love for the Lord.
Not even the rain could stop the fun at our Ice Cream Social! Families from every grade enjoyed delicious treats, met their teachers and classmates, and visited tables for Cub Scouts, American Heritage Girls, and MomCo. Friends reunited and ordered the adorable Pura Vida bracelets that proudly show off our Gaels' colors, blue and yellow. Online orders for the bracelets will begin in late September.
On Monday, our Preschool and Kindergarten families enjoyed popsicles with the principal and time on the playground. The slides and climbers were buzzing with a swarm of excited little ones while parents caught up after summer or made connections with incoming families.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were packed with orientations and classroom visits. I’m sure many parents are still recovering from those bleachers or those tiny preschool chairs!
Our teachers and staff wrapped up the week with a special Joy and Peace Retreat. Starting with Mass, Monsignor reminded us of our mission in his homily: to guide young ones to Christ and help them build a lasting trust in Him. Speaker Patrick Cummings shared that the deep joy found in Christ is infectious, and Lindsey McCarthy talked about the peace that comes from surrendering to the Lord. With time for Adoration and Benediction, our staff had sacred downtime to reflect and prepare their hearts alongside Christ for the exciting new year ahead.
We also happily welcomed our new team members: Mrs. Graham (P3 Aide), Mrs. Maxwell (P4 Aide), Mrs. Weglarz (5th/6th Grade), Mrs. Mink (Junior High), and Mr. Breyer (Technology Coordinator). A big shout-out to Tiffany Charbon Photography for her continued beautiful work with our group photo and staff pictures!
We wish all our Gaels a fantastic last weekend of summer. Soak up the sunshine, recharge your energy, and get ready for an incredible year ahead!
