💙 Men's Health & Mental Health Month 💚

June is a reminder that taking care of your physical and mental health matters.

A few important reminders:

💙 Physical Health Matters
Men are often less likely to schedule routine doctor visits. Annual checkups and recommended screenings can help identify concerns early and support overall health and wellness.

💚 Mental Health Matters
Too Many men feel pressure to always appear strong, independent, or in control. These expectations can make it difficult to talk about struggles or ask for help. Anxiety, depression, stress, grief, burnout, and other mental health challenges are more common than many realize—and support is available.

Men need to know it's okay:
• To have bad days
• To talk about feelings
• To cry • To feel vulnerable
• To not have all the answers
• To seek counseling or therapy
• To ask for help
• To lean on friends, family, or faith communities
• To take care of their mental health just as they would their physical health

Strength isn't found in carrying everything alone. Sometimes the strongest thing a person can do is speak up, reach out, and let others walk alongside them.

You don't have to walk through life's challenges alone. If you would like to connect with a Stephen Minister, please contact Lorraine Paffenroth at [email protected].

🛠️❤️ Youth Mission Trip Update

Today our youth partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, helping build bunk beds for children in need. They measured, cut, drilled, sanded, and assembled beds that will soon provide a safe place for a child to sleep.

And just when we thought the day couldn't get any bigger...

Then they tackled a huge project—unloading an entire shipping container filled with blankets. More than 600 boxes! 🚛

They are working hard, serving joyfully, and making a real difference in the lives of others. We couldn't be more proud of these young people and the way they are putting their faith into action.

☀️ Pull Up Another Chair
Jesus never drew circles that left people out. He always drew circles that brought people in.

One of the most beautiful ways we live out our faith is by choosing inclusion over exclusion. Jesus welcomed the overlooked, listened to the forgotten, and made room for people others pushed aside. His love crossed boundaries and built bridges.

In a world that often feels divided, followers of Jesus are called to do something different—we're called to make room at the table.
Maybe today that looks like inviting someone into a conversation, reaching out to a neighbor, sitting with someone who seems alone, or simply offering kindness where it's least expected.

You never know how much an open chair, a warm smile, or a simple invitation can mean.

💛 "Jesus never drew circles that left people out. He always drew circles that brought people in."
— Pastor Rick Peters

☕ As you start your day, ask yourself:
Who needs a seat at your table today?

Caravan Mission Trip: Day 1! ❤️

Today, the Caravan team began their week of service at the Ferncliff Disaster Assistance Center. They spent the day packing school supply kits, assembling cleaning buckets, organizing inventory, and helping prepare school and hygiene kits for communities in need.

They also learned that Ferncliff sent supplies to Three Rivers, Michigan, following the tornadoes that impacted the area this spring—a meaningful reminder that the work they’re doing today may one day help neighbors right here at home.

Please keep the Caravan team, the Ferncliff staff, and the communities they serve in your prayers throughout the week as they continue to be the hands and feet of Christ.

It was a joy to welcome Pastor Emeritus Rick Peters back to the pulpit yesterday!

Rev. Peters invited us to reflect on one of life's biggest questions: Why are we here?

While philosophers, scientists, and theologians have wrestled with this question for centuries, Scripture offers a remarkably simple answer.

Micah 6:8 tells us:
"Do justice. Love kindness. Walk humbly with your God."

Three simple actions. Three life-changing practices.

Rev. Peters reminded us that these aren't passive ideas—they're active verbs. They shape how we treat others, how we respond to the world around us, and how we live out our faith each day.
We also looked to Jesus, who showed us what purpose-filled living looks like. Though equal with God, Christ chose humility, service, and sacrifice. As Paul writes in Philippians, Jesus "emptied himself" and took the form of a servant, becoming obedient even to death on a cross.

While our individual callings may differ based on our gifts, circumstances, and season of life, our shared purpose remains the same:

Do justice.
Love kindness.
Walk humbly with God.

Sometimes the deepest questions have the clearest answers.

Thank you, Rev. Rick Peters, for leading us in worship and reminding us of the simple, powerful calling at the heart of our faith.❤️💒

❤️ Sunday School Spotlight: Who Is My Neighbor?

Today our RGPC Kids explored that question through the parable of the Good Samaritan. They discovered that Jesus calls us to love and care for others—even when they’re different from us.

This week, our kids were challenged to look for ways to serve others and live out Jesus’ words:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength… and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:30-31)

❤️ Who can you be a neighbor to this week?
