Beth Messiah Congregation

Beth Messiah Congregation Beth Messiah is a Messianic Jewish Congregation located in Livingston, New Jersey. We believe that Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth is the promised Messiah.

Please join our Facebook group. We believe that Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth is the Messiah promised in the Jewish Bible for both Jews and Gentiles. Beth Messiah Congregation was established in 1983 and has always been known as a place where both Jews and Gentiles gather together for joyful worship, prayer, and the study of God’s Word. While we are an independent congregation, we have friendly relat

ionships with many other Messianic Jewish groups and with those churches which have a positive regard toward the Jewish People. We invite you to explore our site, see the photos of our activities, and check our schedule of Special Events. Most of all, we invite you to visit Beth Messiah. We meet at 15 North Livingston Ave, corner of Route 10. Our weekly Shabbat service is held Saturday mornings at 10:30 A.M. It consists of joyful praise and worship, the reciting of the Shema and other heartfelt Hebrew liturgical praises, a reading and explanation from the weekly Torah or Haftarah portion, and a teaching from God's Word. Afterward, we set out a Kiddush table with refreshments to encourage fellowship. We also offer classes for children through age 12, a teen program, and a supervised nursery. Other congregational activities include a Ladies fellowship, a Mens Fellowship, special Jewish holiday services, small home group bible studies, a congregational Passover Seder, picnics, Hebrew classes, and a Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation program for young people. We hope you’ll visit soon! May God bless you as you follow Him!

Since we are on the verge of this year's observance of the Jewish holiday of Purim, I thought the following comparison between Esther and Joseph might be of interest to some. It just shows how God has a pattern of providentially delivering His people.

Tomorrow evening begins the first night of the eight-day festival of Hanukkah, which commemorates the miracle in 165 BCE of the Maccabees' victory over the oppressive Syrian Greek regime that had outlawed the worship of the one true God. The Maccabees wrested back control of the temple in Jerusalem and rededicated it back to the worship and service of God. Hanukkah means "Dedication." We at Beth Messiah Congregation would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a warm and meaningful celebration of Hanukkah. May we all dedicate our bodies and lives as temples and vessels for the use and worship of our God. The image below is an iconic photograph that survived the Holocaust. A Jewish family that lived across the street from a building housing the N**i headquarters were brazen and emboldened enough to place their Hanukkah menorah in full view in the window sill of their apartment. Anne Frank, the famous Jewish teenager who became a victim of the Holocaust, once said this, as she was observing the Hanukkah candles burning: "Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness.”
