Episode 3 of Did You Know? High Holiday Edition brings us Rabbi Edwards, who shares the importance of the Yizkor Book and the Jewish tradition of remembering those we have lost.

Each year, TBA’s Yizkor Book lists the names of our deceased loved ones, offering a meaningful and lasting way to honor their memory. The booklet is used on Yom Kippur and during Yizkor services throughout the year.

Names are not automatically carried over from year to year, so be sure to submit the names of those you wish to remember by September 7.

Two Thursdays back, I spent a few hours revisiting former synagogues in Newark, NJ. I went primarily because of this site, the former Temple B'nai Abraham on Clinton Avenue. I heard it's in bad shape. The church even moved out. Tbc

Episode 2 of our “Did You Know? High Holy Edition” brings us Rabbi Becky Jaye!

The month of Elul invites us to slow down and engage in cheshbon hanefesh—an “accounting of the soul”—as we reflect on the past year and consider how we hope to grow in the year ahead. Take a moment to share your prayers and hopes for the coming year with our clergy at the link below, as we prepare together for a meaningful High Holy Day season.
